Well, being greedy isn't always bad but there are always things which can be a good deal but only if you know what you're doing.
And this was also my new 2013 Skoda Octavia 2 (facelift, wagon) with an accident damage on the front but fortunately with no blown airbags.
So yeah, it sounded like it would be an easy thing to do for me but gosh, I was so wrong.
The space in engine compartment was very small, the parts were mostly used ones except for the important part and things were so complicated for me, someone who only knows the basic things about working on cars.
So, first thing was the thing with the hood and optional trunk. This isn't a 2025 car where it's only possible to get parts from manufacturers but when it came to this car, but I didn't find that many replacement hoods in good condition in the same color, so I had to get one with a little bit of paint damage (probably from flying stones) and for the trunk, I didn't find any without corrosion and this seems to be a common thing for this model for some reason, so I kept the original one.
Second one was the installation for the oil cooler since the 2.0TDI with my engine code has oil overheating issues, so I had to prevent the cylinder head from cracking in the future by installing a oil cooler and the worst thing was that there were many tutorials in German or at least Polish language.
Third ones were all the little things which was just so hard for me to replace, that my motivation on this car was at it's bottom for the last 3 months. Like for example replacing the clutch on this car required me to disassemble so many things and cleaning the diesel particle filter with a pipe cleaning powder and boiling water took me an entire day and I actually broke off one of the bolts while unscrewing that bloody thing XD
Honestly, in the end I will never do anything like that again and even though I learned a lot of things about car repairs but it took so much time to fix it. I couldn't even use my PS3 and PS5 for more than 2-3 times a month while I was working on that car because I spend most of the time doing stuff on the car, hours long AI Chatbot sessions and all of this only to be able to drive it tomorrow, after it successfully passed the road safety inspection yesterday.
So yeah, tomorrow I'll be registering it and doing all the other boring stuff but it'll be interesting, since it's my first time registering a car in Poland and I'm kinda excited to see if it'll be much simpler than registering an car in Germany.
I forgot to mention it before but I bought it from a dealership, I didn't had to pay some strange polish car tax, which you should pay after purchasing a car from another individual and you don't have to pay it if it was purchased from a company and you get something called a "faktura VAT 23%" which has something to do with sales taxes : P
I actually didn't knew that before spending 40 minutes in a line at a financial institution in my city XD
