Help Need help with an overdose

As the title suggests, I'd like to hear your thoughts on overdosing. I know people often say it doesn't work, but in some cases it does (my sister would have died if she hadn't called the emergency services, for example).

I managed to get a prescription for an antidepressant and anti-anxiety medication. For a one-month supply, I can get 560 mg of paroxetine and 1,125 mg of hydroxyzine. Is that enough to hope to die fairly quickly? Or should I wait another month or two? Or should I ask my psychiatrist for a different medication next month?

No one here can give you an exact amount because there is no established amount that will definitely kill you. Medication ODs very rarely kill and are often far from peaceful. Unless you have aome pre-existing medical condition or are elderly, I would not attempt an OD.

You are also trying to die with medications that are incredibly safe. The might leave you with some side effects, but you will be very much alive.

I thought that would be enough, since I had seen that the toxic dose was 100 mg for paroxetine and 2 g for hydroxyzine. I figured that if I waited three months, I would have far exceeded the toxic dose. But maybe a toxic dose doesn't necessarily mean a lethal dose...

I suppose you can't really tell me which medications to get to die. Otherwise, a lot of people would have already done it… I wonder how people who died from an overdose managed it.

I suppose all I can do is muster up the courage and throw myself in front of a train or hang myself (even though it's extremely scary, especially the train, and I doubt I have the strength to do it...). I don't know what to do anymore... why is it so hard to commit suicide?
