sounds like what you're looking for is reliability. the more reliable a method is, the greater is the chance of success.
PPeH definitely talks about reliability.
but there are other aspects one may consider as well. I can't remember all of them, but some are peacefulness, availability, the time it takes to work, danger to others, risks and consequences of failing, personal preference etc etc…
