So I contacted my nearest funeral home and asked about pre arrangements. I tried not to be suspicious and said I had two good friends around my age who died unexpectedly (lies) and I just wanted to get things in order. (I'm late 30's)
Anyways, she said she would call me back and I just wanted advice as to how to go about this like will she ask why you want to pre pay at such a young-ish age. Will they question me?

i highly doubt it - the 40-60 range in general is already a fairly common range for people to preplan funerals for themselves. you're close enough to that.

plus, it helps that preplanning funerals in general are extremely common.

preplanning a funeral (even at like 5, with parents obviously) shouldnt be a deal. you can die any second on any day from anything. having things in order makes things easier for the ones still alive (planning, costs, whatever else) and it ensures you have the things you want (the music, type of flowers, coffin/urn/gravestone design). kms or not, i want to plan my funeral just so i can have everything done and im only 23. ive had my urn picked out since my late teens

But I want none of that. Just creamation. No service, no tombstone, nothing else at all. I just wonder if they ever get suspicious and ask questions I'm not prepared to answer

i see why they might, but just because someone doesnt want a service ect doesnt mean theyre going to ctb, its just a personal preference and everyone has different reasons.

Understood. Just wanted to see if anyone who actually did this could provide info, I'd like to think there are laws preventing them from coming fourth

They won't get suspicious. A lot of people like to plan ahead and prepay for their funeral, so they can save money and get exactly what they want when the time comes. The funeral home will be happy to help you make arrangements. They want your business. It sounds like you want a direct cremation. Funerals are very expensive. It isn't suspicious if someone wants to keep it simple and save money.

I was 28 when I prepaid for my direct cremation. The funeral director was professional and courteous the entire time and didn't ask once about my reasoning.

they won't question you at all. many people and some younger than you have pre paid funeral plans and fully paid funerals. it's not uncommon at all.

Alot of people are planning their funerals earlier these days so family doesn't have to worry about any of that so it should be fine 😊
