  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

i have come close to death two times (three attempts but only two caused unconsciousness). the first time was with hanging and i have no confirmation of whether or not my heart ever stopped but i do not believe so? i just know i became unconscious multiple times due to lack of blood flow. while unconscious there was nothingness. i had no visions or dreams, i ceased to exist. when i took SN my dad walked in and found me not breathing and had to perform cpr, once again i do not remember any sense of anything. my only experience with death is oblivion. i am not uncomfortable with that, that is what happens before we are born so i can imagine it being what happens after we die. i just don't understand why other people have visions and see lights while i no longer have a consciousness

Not everyone who almost dies has these experiences. Also you cant surely rule out the fact that you just dont remember them. Forgot just like dreams.

while i do not doubt i may have forgotten, i vividly remember waking up from the attempts and immediately taking note of my lack of thought

NDEs is the brain lagging out (fighter pilots can get them, you get effects similar to various drugs). If we just cut the blood flow instantly or deoxygenate quickly, I don't see how the brain has time to set up the chems and shit.

I have also experimented with passing out on purpose by cutting bloodflow. While I never fully recall what exactly was haopening, I certainly had some form of thinking during it. And the weird feeling afterwards like what the fuck did just happen.

Closest I've gotten to death wasn't even intentional. I was "swimming" in a pool that I had no business being in. Once I had realized I swam into the 7 foot area I started to panic like crazy and almost immediately my head went under. I was maybe 8 feet from the wall, but I just barely knew how to swim and the panic didn't help. I tried to get back up and I thought I was above the water so I tried to breathe and took a big gulp of water. Somehow that calmed me down and I swam as best as I could to the wall and (obviously) made it. First thing I noticed was the pounding headache which I see a lot of users who failed hanging describe. As I caught my breath for a few minutes I looked around at the packed pool and saw that nobody cared that I almost died. I think back to it and just wish that I could get that close again.

A statistic that I once read is that only about 15% of near-death events yields actual NDEs.

The experiences themselves are very real in most cases. Numerous times, people have overheard conversations in other rooms while technically dead, and later been able to accurately recall what was said - all verified by medical professionals. Sometimes they get told not to talk about what happened. A damn shame it is a taboo topic, but people don't like having their world views disrupted.

For me, this is win win situation. If there is eternal sleep where time doesnt exist, I accept it.
If there is someform afterlife which now seems possible then this is good too.

I suspect should peaceful afterlife become a fact, suicide rate would skyrocket.

Yes. The only complicating factor is that most NDEs (suicide or otherwise) end with the experiencer being told it's 'not your time' or you have 'work to do' and then being forcibly sent back. Almost no one wants to come back here as the other side is completely peaceful, free of pain, etc.

I was just indulging in reading random suicide NDEs. Most are quite pleasant, aside from everyone getting booted out of heaven and back to this shithole.
