Since you are using nitrogen with an Argon flowmeter, please make an adjustment in the flowrate for the heavier Argon.

Incidentally, how many litres are in your cylinder?

Best!

What is your opinion on using a full-face diving mask instead of a plastic bag?

I believe the full/half face mask is the best but price may be an issue for some. The EEBD is a reasonable compromise between the bag and mask plus you do not require a demand valve to make it work. Best!
Sorry I cannot find an entry for this date.
You have me worried now.
Could you let me know by email.

Thank you.
I just PM'd you. Best!

Just set your flow rate to 12.5LPM, that is all. What is the size of your nitrogen tank?

With a tank at 2L at around 2200psi, you are on the low side. 2L translates to around 10-11cf and will probably last under 15minutes. I would suggest that you go for the full 20cf tank as commonly suggested to give you a 100% margin of error. You certainly do not want to be running out of gas. Best!

May I suggest that you consider looking at welding (supplies) and wine preservation outlets. Best!

Is this cylinder ok for my needs.

Nitrogen Technical grade 5 (99.999% purity)

Use
Blanketing, purging, inerting, sparging, heat treatment, pressure-transfer, assist gas for plasma/laser cutting.

Features
Meets the requirements for ISO14175:N1.
Nitrogen is a non-corrosive, inert gas.

Supply mode
Supplied in a 10 litre steel cylinder at 200 bar.

Benefits
Grade 5 nitrogen (99.999% purity) available in a broad range of supply modes makes it is suitable for a very broad range of industries and applications. Available from 10 litre portable cylinders, through to cylinder packs, high pressure compact liquid supply and bulk liquid supply.

Notes
  • Fitted with BS3 valve

Five 9's is UHP (see Dec 27th blog entry). It may be quite expensive. You only require 99.9% pure N2. Best!

I just saw a response on here claiming your blog stated you only need 95% purity, but I dont think that you said that because here you are saying otherwise! I wanted to get food grade bc I'm a woman and that seems to be the least suspicious, but apparently food grade can be like 97% according to google. so which is it?

Ask your supplier. They can tell you or send you specification sheet for the gas. Mine is food grade and the specification sheet says it's 99.5% nitrogen.

Most commercial nitrogen is 99% pure. 95% is sufficient to result in abrupt unconsciouness.

I considered this source but it looked a bit like it was for traders and obviously I don't want to arouse suspicion or get asked questions. Did you buy from them in the end, if so how did it go? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to reply here
