I wasn't going to say anything…but thanks for the clarification, you can hardly blame yourself for the mistake when you're likely in turmoil over the current situation.
I know a lot of us here have mixed feelings and perhaps even contempt and resentment for our parents, but I don't think it's ever easy to lose them and I can only imagine your loss, I'm so sorry this has happened, it must be horrendous and head-spinning.
Even with my own mother, as many arguments as we have, as much as she tends to induce a stroke within me, she is still basically the only one relative to me to offer even a fraction of support or a listening ear (though frustratingly selective), so if I lost even that piece..holy shit.
She's also the only one who knows of my requests for after my death, so…I don't even want to know what will happen if she's not around to uphold some of the promises she's made to me (albeit as doubtful as they are).
You must be exhausted having to take care of the details of your mother's death while still having to plan your own, and now with yet another trauma and loss.
Again, you have my condolences.
