It's just… life coach, like a 12 step program to create a "toolkit" to manifest your goals, dreams, desires, where you can pay someone a ridiculous amount of money per hour to quote toxic positivity, which you can get for free on social media.
Also…. The death coach comment made me crack a smile for the first time in months. (My dark humour).
Actually would be nice if you could get a death coach - here's some reliable sources, here's how to overcome SI etc.

To me a 'life coach' sounds like a scam. I just hate how things like that even exist, as it just supports the pro life ideas that life must always be lived and that things will always improve. No life coach can solve the very real problems that people have and can take away suffering. I think that toxic positivity is harmful, in my opinion, it's better to see the world for what it really is. If someone lives in denial of how horrible existence actually is, then they will just end up suffering more when they are forced to confront reality.

Tbh, life coaches generally market towards specific targets, like "how to get the job you want", "how to organise your finances", "how to be successful in xxx hobby / study / career".
The idea is, set a goal and they will advise on practical "tools" as to how to achieve it. Mostly they teach common sense, or organisation skills, to help someone direct their thoughts to achieve whatever their "goal" is.
Theoretically their methods could be applied with ctb in mind (though you couldn't ever actually tell them that was your "goal"
). Irony there… seeing a life coach to practically implement cbt.
I do think they're generally taking advantage, but people will pay for anything these days. Also some people just like being told what to do, and they cash in on that.
Generally they cannot and should not take clients who are struggling with mental health disorders with their "goal" being to overcome, because they're not qualified. You can get a "life coaching certificate" by doing a crappy online course.
