My Landlord Wants Me to Get the Covid Vaccine

You DO have the choice. I'm saying you should CHOOSE to get it.

You have the choice to never shower and not to wear shoes in public if you want. You could choose to throw all your trash straight out the window, or to take a shit on the pavement like a dog if you want to.

I would HOPE that you care enough about other people to extend them some basic courtesy. Cleaning up after yourself isn't mandatory, but you're an inconsiderate, anti-social jerk if you don't do it.

To be frank - grow up. Nobody wanted COVID or to have to get vaccinated but shit happens, and we all have to deal with it. Not getting vaccinated is irresponsible and puts others at unnecessary risk.

You'll be mildly ill for like a day and then its done. You take FAR bigger risks every day, just by crossing the street or getting in the shower.

I agree. This isn't about only you. It's about everyone and the vaccine only works if enough people get it. It's natural to fear putting something new like this in your body, and I had the same reservations. But after doing the research, and learning how IMPOSSIBLE it is to get the virus from the vaccine, your chances of having a complication are far lower than the harm that will A) come from you catching COVID yourself or B) you will cause to the community by not doing your part to get vaccinated. So just get vaccinated.

I find it ridiculous that people suddenly want to play the "greater good" card just because they can't accept they are willing to take peoples' bodily autonomy for a cause they blindly follow.

It's fine that the OP made his choice to take it even though he really doesn't want to but it's bad that he was essentially bullied and forced to do it. Yeah if someone threatens me with slicing my neck open with a knife or meet their demands then of course I'm going to meet those demands even though I want to die anyway. I just wouldn't want to die that way because it's scary to me and thus against my will.

I really don't care that it's wrong, I'm going to continue to choose to not take the vaccine because it's still administered by a needle and that bothers me. I don't care that it could be perceived as immature. What else is new? If I have to keep wearing a mask and social distancing well into next year then so be it. I hate the way my face looks anyway and am fine with staying indoors therefore it's perfectly within my right to not take the vaccine. I don't even care if other people choose to take it so long as they actually made that choice instead of got forced to take it just because the hive mind wants it that way.

I got the first shot yesterday. My arm is still sore and I'm fatigued. I didn't feel the needle at all but the soreness and fatigue started a few hours after.

I saw the landlord as I was leaving to get the shot and I told him. He thanked me.

He didn't check my card so I could have lied about it but, if I was found out, that would definitely be bad. I could've just gone out to lunch but I didn't. Hell, I could've made an excuse and left the clinic without the shot because they gave me the card before the shot. I'd wonder if there would be legal reprecussions for that. I even looked up how to make my own card but that would really be bad if found out.

My next shot is in May. Maybe I'll get a few days off work if the side effects are as bad as I've heard.

Without knowing where you live or anything is there a legal standing behind him making you get it? Because I'm sort of having trouble believing there is, what if you're allergic or something and seriously can't get it.

Yep.. it's like demanding everyone eat peanuts.. some people are allergic.. this is why a covid passport mandate is ludicrous.. but it's never been about safety.. so sick of the authorizations..
