I failed the FSH. Recently, I finally made my first real attempt at a CTB. I was home alone and wanted to go through with it, but I couldn't follow through... I was sure my self-preservation instinct would stop me, but the main reason was the pain.
I had everything set up and tried to climb down from the chair; I placed a smaller stool underneath and stepped onto it, intending to step into the void, but every time my weight shifted completely onto the noose, I felt intense pain in my neck and had to climb back onto the chair. I managed to hang there for maybe half a second, but after that, my neck started to hurt a lot, and it became painful to swallow. I realized that I definitely wouldn't be able to go through with it this time because of the pain. Anyway, it took a week for the pain in my neck to go away completely, and now I can try again. As far as I understand, you have to take one step at a time, remove anything that might help you get back up, and hold on for a few seconds until you lose consciousness...
And you only get one try, because after that my neck will clearly start hurting again, and I won't be able to do it again.
