  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Not so long ago I was hospitalized due to suicide ideation (that was a mistake to open up about it) in a public hospital (your girl can't afford a private one cause prices here are waaaay too expensive, around 1.7k per day)
There you need to take everything you need, towels, pillow, clothing, everything.
The mental area is constituted by a single locked corridor with rooms, each room with three beds on it, and the eating place.
There are no activities and no therapy, no psychologist, nothing, all you have is your bed and meds, so you have absolutely nothing to do else than to lay down the whole day or chat with other patients. Once a day someone passes by to ask how are you feeling (like if there was any reason to feel different) and someone passes to check your blood pressure.
For food you get a margarine sandwich in the morning, lunch is unbearable, crackers for snack, a horrible soup as 18h and later a snack that would be more crackers or another margarine sandwich.
Other than having those meals there's nothing to do, not even television, and after a while without any therapy or any psychologist or anything alike you just have to lie to the person that asks how are you and soon you're released.
Absolutely not helpful at all. But hey, can't commit suicide with two more people in the bedroom and nurses just outside. Lol
That place is a joke

Out of curiosity do they let you bring other items such as mobile phones, or do they confiscate those things along with anything that you can use to potentially harm yourself or others? (I've read before such places will even confiscate shoe laces because apparently you can hang/strangle yourself with those.)

Speaking of mobile phones, are there even any spare sockets available if in case you wanted to recharge any electrical devices?

You can have your phone in the mornings only, they keep the charger tho, so you give them back by lunch time and they'll charge it so you can use next morning. No wi fi tho.
And they confiscate anything like shoe laces, and things you could harm yourself with, yes.

Only for the mornings? Damn, that would get boring for those who prefer spending their time with electronic devices. I hope you at least had good company from the other patients while you was there.

I wasn't in the mood to talk to people, so most of the time I just spent in bed, like I already do at home lol

The same is true in public psychiatric hospitals around the world. Patients are reduced to the role of a ruthlessly obedient and calm pig who is supposed to cause no problem.

That's rough. It's nicer in the UK, we get TV, good meals, books. And rooms only have 1 bed. Unfortunately the mattress and pillows are plastic-y so make you sweat really badly. We saw a psychologist once a week. Nurses would do regular observations.

Thats why i say this site is the best for any and all kinds of help....best case scenerio is if people recovered from here ....make a difference in the world as opposed to leaving it behind....kinda like how soldiers fight unitedly to win the war as opposed to each one deserting....ah well

That does sound like an awful prison, I cannot imagine a place like that to be helpful in any way. I certainly agree that it's a mistake to open up to others about wanting to ctb as unfortunately suicide really is so stigmatised in a world like this with so many people not respecting the right to die.
