my dog is keeping me alive

it sounds silly, and fuck, it is silly. out of my family and friends my dog is the thing I hang onto... But my dog is the only thing that makes me not want to die yet in this world. I get to spend my days home alone just with him and he loves me so much and is such a perfect little dog, if anything happened to him I'd die instantly.

I guess, I'm still planning on dying before him, but not for a while. I love spending time with him, he's so cute and perfect and he'd get lonely without me. he loves me a lot, which makes me happy, he makes me happy. it makes me a little mad at him, that I can't die yet because of him, but it's ok. I'm grateful for him being here and without him my life wouldve been worse

does anyone else feel this way with a current pet?

It's not stupid. My chinchilla kept me alive for 19 years. I hate my life without him. You can have a closer bond with an animal than a human. Cherish every moment with your dog. Go walking with him every day, those will be special memories to cherish

The only reason I'm here is because of my dog. I love her and she's my responsibility so i have to try and hang on. She's old though so when she goes,, it will give me the determination to overcome any survival extinct and finally get out of here

Dogs are the greatest. We don't deserve them honestly. Animals rely soley on humans because they can't do anything else.
That's great though, hold onto him if he helps you.
I feel really bad i'm possibly leaving mine behind, she's been my best friend since I got her 5 years ago.
It's funny, cause I have no friends and even family hates me.... but this dog refuses to be anyone's but mine. She's such a sweetheart.

My dog is definitely also one of the reasons I'm still alive. Shes a big fluffy dog and helps me through a lot, I wouldnt know what to do without her honestly.

100% understand the dog thing…….I too have a wonderful dog and when I've had opportunity to CTB , I've stopped myself because he was going to be alone for too long before people would discover me. Dogs get upset by these things as well and I wouldn't of wanted to do that to him.

Suicide is the hardest thing I've ever known, the mind plays so many tricks on you.

Yep, me too. Ever since I was 19 and the closest I've ever been to CTB, my dog saved my life and they dogs keep me going.

I get it. My dog was my only friend. He was the only reason I left the house because he deserves walks and car rides. He was my perfect little man.

A few months ago I lost him in a car accident. The final look he gave me before passing haunts me. I started death cleaning before his body even went fully cold. Unfortunately, before my plan went through, my family sent over someone to supervise me as they got freaked out from me not answering anything. I'm still under direct supervision in a tiny apartment I once shared with my dog.

I just want to be with my best friend again.
