my doctor refusing to give me the STD test i need, might be my final step towards suicide

i live in denmark and good luck trying to get an STD test here. you have to jump thru hoops for it.
my doc directly admitted to me she refuses to test for HIV unless someone has been with "someone from Africa" (in her own words) or if they're gay.
it's always so wonderful having to lie to your doc, isn't it? because she's a cheap piece of shit.
i'm not exactly sure how the system works, obviously she doesn't need to pay out of her own pocket, at least not directly.
but they are very cheap with STD tests and often say stuff like "oh yeah, i'm sure those symptoms mean nothing, go home, you're good".
which is an extremely irresponsible thing for a doctor to say to someone who has symptoms of a potentially deadly disease.

in my case, i'm fighting with her over a god damn HERPES TEST!!!!!!!!

i'm in an open relationship with my girlfriend, and i don't wanna potentially transmit herpes to her. (long distance, we visit twice a year).
so thanks doc... you might be the final nail in the coffin for me, you fucking piece of shit.

she will literally be the cause of my suicide if i don't get her to give me that test eventually, before the next visit with my girlfriend.

I'm sorry, that's terrible. I've never heard of such a thing. STD tests should be easily accessible just like all preventative care. That blows my mind!

I'm thinking maybe your Dr has told you your results by a physical exam. Are you asking for a blood test to confirm the diagnosis? This is the only reason I can see her doing this

That's outrageous, and I thought Denmark was the happiest country in the world--Internet says you can get an IgG test for Herpes 1 or 2, here in the US for just $50 to $100, there's even a home test kit called MyLab or something, just cost $79

no. i had a sore but they were closed for a week in the time i had the sore, which could be anything from impetigo which i'm prone to, to whatever else skin infection.
and she's very incompetent, so i wouldn't take her word for it anyway, i'd need professional proof.
not someone who is hurrying to get me out the door ASAP. and advicing me to have the "oh i'm sure it's nothing"-attitude... in other words, advicing me to gamble with my health.
AND my girlfriend's health, which i also told her about.

it's about money. i would assume it takes a lot of work to locate herpes in a blood test, so it's probably expensive... that's my theory.
and i'm just not worth it to them or something.

that's one of my biggest pet peeves, that lie. we have for many many years been the leading users of anti depression pills in denmark. NUMBER ONE on the list of countries that use the most anti depression pills in all of Europe.

Ya and there are tons of clinics where you could likely get it free if you have no income. I know for sure my insurance covers a full panel test for stds once a year along with any other preventative lab work.

I'm sorry she is doing this. I'm sire you are stressed and need answers. Can you call another Dr and say you want a STI check? That's what I'd do and leave this Dr alone! Try it that way, hopefully that will help.
