I barely eat anything anymore, I don't even have the will to finish my food anymore, my mental state just gets worse and worse every single day. I've got like the opposite of whatever fat people have, fat people usually cope with food which in the long term makes their depression even worse. I go to the gym and I'm skinny muscular so I try to gain weight by eating in a caloric surplus, but that goal has been sabotaged by the worsening of my mental state, which in turn makes me even more depressed because my gym progress has been stuck for 3 months now, and if anything my performance has gotten a little worse than before. I used to track my calories, but I gave up because the number just keeps going lower and lower. Also I'm sure that me not eating lowers my mood by itself, not even accounting for the lack of progress in the "self improvement" department. I'm just stuck in this negativity loop and I don't see a way to get out of it. Please help me🙏

Also I don't mind saying the d word anymore, as long as it's me who's saying it.

What you describe is a really painful situation. I am sorry you are going through this...

When I happen to have had a terrible day and it is hard for me to eat anything, I try to at least drink some good fruit juice or liquid yoghurt. As someone who goes to the gym, you probably are familiar with different types of protein shakes and the like. So I would recommend you get to drink more nutritious stuff when you are unable to eat.

Also, have you noticed if in different environments your appetite varies? Perhaps, going to a restaurant or eating outside, in fresh air, helps you? Do you usually eat by yourself and have you the choice of eating with company? Company helps me eat more and enjoy food more.

If you don't cook, cooking could also trigger your appetite. Sometimes it helps me recover mine.

Last tip: try new types of food, from other countries and cultures. Maybe the novelty factor by itself will help.

Kind regards

I don't know how to cook anything apart from rice and chicken(lol, average gym rotter diet). Today I ate at a restaurant and left without finishing my plate, same thing happened yesterday at Burger King and has been happening for the past 3 months, its honestly harder to finish my meals when I´m out in public because while I'm eating I start thinking about my depression and lack of progress in life which makes me focus more on acting normal and trying my hardest to hold back tears rather than eating the food, thinking about my misery makes me instantly lose any appetite I had. The tip is quite good, although I'm not sure if it'll help me because I'm a very picky eater(I'd rather starve to death than eat stuff I don't like). Still thanks for the suggestions, much love:heart:.
