He's in another country, but after years of battling Type 1 Diabetes coupled with severe depression, he finally found peace at 34. He had a hemorrhagic stroke and fell into a coma. He had a DNR order at such a young age. It was strange to hear. I wasn't too close with him, but we partied whenever I was in town. My other cousin who was talking about his frequent complications with Type 1 Diabetes told me he was too depressed to take care of himself, and sort of gave up a few years ago. He has two strokes by 33. They're in a place considered the developing world.
My mom's side has a lot of kids with a severe depression. It's never talked about. I mean my brother and I had separate incidents of trying to CTB from our teenage years to early 20s.
I'm in a similar state of not taking any care of myself right now, but I don't have diabetes. Interesting to think about, though I have no one to speak to about it.
Sort of jealous of his ability to commit a slow suicide like that. Selfish to say if anything.
