My anchor point is this ladder which is securely mounted to the wall. It will hold my body weight. However, in order to not just be able to save myself via supporting myself on the rungs, I will have to tie to the side of the ladder (seen on image 2). My concern: though I'll be fully suspended from the ground, my back will pretty firmly be against the side of the ladder. Effectively this is the same as your back being against the wall as you hang. I'm scared this will make the method less effective or just not work at all. Does anyone know if having your back against a support in the way I will will make it not work? I'm also a little scared of the knot which will be on the back going up too high, above my chin. Will that make this non-lethal? I appreciate any help on this.

There shoudnt be any problems with the ladder if it doesnt intervene with the knot making it loose or anything like that i wouldnt worry about it. About the chin part if it still blocks your airway u should be death anyway maybe it will take longer and be more painful if it doesnt block the artery but u should still die.

You need for a few seconds as much willpower as you do if you choose partial hanging, but compared with partial the rope will at least take your full body weight.
Why should the knot go up higher above your chin compared to other hanging situations?

It's fine if your back rests on a surface. As long as your feet aren't touching the ground, it's Full Suspension.

You can watch some videos if you want and check it out. As you mentioned, in addition to your ladder, other similar surfaces where you will rest your back will be the door, the bars of a window, even the wall of a house (if you have something where you can tie the rope)

Always check that your anchor point and rope can support your weight. Test both.

If it is a knot that adjusts itself (noose knot with stopper knot) when you apply your weight there will be no problems. Check that the ligature slides smoothly and that it doesn't get stuck.
