i've been messing around with a method. i put several plastic bags on my head, and on top of the rest is one larger bag.
then i tie a wire and use a tourniquet to keep the bags on my neck tightly.

i tried a few times, and only ever stopped because of fear. by my standards, it's not too uncomfortable, so i can stay in there for a long period of time, i think.

i know this method isn't the absolute best, but it doesn't really hurt to try, does it? i'm in a rush right now and i'm going to use this method again tonight and fight my survival instinct off with all my will. if there's even a bit of a chance this could work, i'm going to cling to that.

right now? i'm feeling more pressured to kill myself because my truancy with school is catching up to me. i've needed a push to commit.
Truancy? Can I ask how old you are? Sometimes it is easier to face up to some problems head on and get it over and done with, regardless of how unpleasant it looks. With something like this it seems it will be a serious telling off that would last a few minutes, then whatever penance they give you afterwards. I know it can be scary standing in front of authority, but believe me, you will survive it.

CO2 is what your body senses that triggers the panic. That's why nitrogen or helium are typically used with an exit bag. Once the CO2 reaches a certain level alarm bells start to go off system wide.

Young and healthy people (including free of mental diseases) should not kill themselves. The right time to despair is around 45 years old.

can't take the hurting anymore. also being alive is exhausting
Froggy-
You're correct, being alive is exhausting! Try it for my 71 years, wow, talk about tired. :blarg: I have two serious medical conditions, one heading for a stroke and the other a wheelchair. Going to ctb while I still can. But...

I hated high school. Cut class, truant for days, once bummed around NYC for a week to avoid school, parents called the police, the whole nine yards. Hated my home, parents, teachers, my town, all authority. No friends, no sympathetic relatives or adults, no support group, nothing. Just me--my unhappy, maladjusted, freaky self. I was the most desperately alone person you can imagine. Came close to ending it twice, seemed the logical thing to do.

Hung in there. My stubborn, grouchy, ill-tempered, pig-headed, miserable, IRON-WILLED self finally realized that why should I let the rest of the f***ing world make me end my life? F*** them! I kept going just to show them, to spite them.

Worked on my physical and mental strength. Read, read, read. Turned 18 and left that day, literally at 12:01. Traveled, worked, had adventures up the wazoo. Became an artist. Finally went to college and...wait for it...became a teacher! I shit you not, me, a teacher.
No one, not one single motherf***ing person from my younger days would ever have believed that! Hopefully wound up making a difference to some people.

Oh yeah, my sister, life is exhausting.

Young people under the age of 18 should not be on this forum. It will get us shut down. That being said, how can you put an age on despair? I am a 911 First Responder dying from 911 related illnesses. Guess I should be thrilled. Happy. Think it is wonderful because I was younger than 45 when 911 happened. But the second I turned 45 DISPAIR! ;)

Life can often get better for young and healthy people. They can move, have adventures, overcome sadness, as long as they are not sick. But there is no cure for old age, its all downhill from there no matter how good your life was until then.

Are you male? For women I believe it is younger, definitely before 40.

Can taking a large amount if benzos help with cutting SI anxiety? Might make it easier to nod off.

I take some meds but things like this run in my family. I'm having headaches, blurred vision, etc. I don't mean it's going to happen tomorrow, but sooner or later. Also, in the past year, I've developed something called Peripheral Neuropathy. Basically, the nerves in my spinal cord are not communicating correctly with my feet! No cure. I was an athlete most of my life, also hiking, climbing, camping, etc., but now I can only walk for a limited distance and time. Eventually going to be in a wheelchair. So, before either of these things happen and I'd have a very tough time acting by myself for myself, I'm going to do something now.

I just joined this forum a few days ago after coming across a mention of it somewhere else. I'm in my "ctb research" stage, and I'm hoping to find some good info here. Presently reading through all the method mega-threads on the List of Resources forum.
