Hello everyone.

It's been quite some time since I visited here and that is because I have had, up until recently, relatively good days. I have returned for the good company, and in this case, to discuss the fact that Music is a brilliant medicine.

These days I've spent more time really listening to the lyrics of songs and they help me a great deal get out of dark places. At least temporarily.

What is your experience with this?

Ohh boy howdy.. You nailed it,. Music has helped heal / lift me up in Some of my darkness that I've fallen into. Its almost like magic sometimes... So soothing and peaceful. ❤️
With the lyrics,. I'd certainly agree to that as well... Trying to be more aware and mindful in general,. Has helped me pick up those smaller things.

Music resonates with our emotions. Especially with memories if we have associated a particular song with a pleasant memory.

I was at a convenience store once and two young girls were talking. One said that she had just recently heard some music by Fleetwood Mac and thought it was pretty good. She also said that she had not been inclined to listen before as it was just omething her parents listened to. That made me think that there are probably a lot of younger people who are unaware of past music that might find it, if not therapeutic, at lest enjoyable.

One might search for lists of top songs from various years and give them a listen. You never know when you might discover something that will touch your soul.

Music therapy is the best therapy in my tool box. If I feel down, I would listen to "Know Your Worth" by Khalid & Disclosure. If I wanna feel sad or melancolic, I play "Everything I Wanted" with Billie Eilish.

Music has been an intimate part of my experience for as long as I can remember. When I was working on my artwork it was an extremely important part of that process.

it's almost a cliché thing to say, but I genuinely do think that music has made a huge part in saving my life up until this point. it's an incredible, emotional form of art that is so intimate and it's so fucking helpful. finding music that really communicates a level of your pain is extremely cathartic.
