I discovered this instrumental at a pivotal area in my life. I'd listen to it constantly, sometimes wishing there were a version with Paul McCartney singing along, playing the piano himself like he did with Stevie Wonder. "La la la la..."

When I think about it now? It's like a song that would play over the end credits of my life.

I really like these two tracks. I discovered the Avalanches about a decade ago. I'd listen in to selections of Since I left You and it made spring all the more enjoyable.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' "Hallelujah" isn't another cover of Leonard Cohen's song. It stands on its on, with its own lyrics and its own pathos. I've always found it a foreboding song about illness and the tendency to stick with what one knows, even if that knowledge is painful.
