Morphine Ativan dosage

Forgive me for not doing a thorough search, but I'm so very tired from malnutrition that it's getting really hard to research. I'm in hospice (at home), and my only options are a oral morphine and oral Ativan combo. I tried taking a normal dose of each these last 3 nights in hopes that I would go like Heath Ledger, but I guess I'm not getting off that easy. I'm 5"4 and 75 pounds (my poor body is slowly starving itself), and I can't live through the weeks/months they say it will take. How much morphine/Ativan would be fatal? Is there a chart somewhere? I know drug overdoses are iffy, but it's all I got. The morphine I have comes in a bottle that says 20mg per ml and there are there are 30 ml in the bottle. The Ativan has 2mg per ml, and also in 30ml bottle. I need to figure out how much I'll need to save up. Thanks!

I'm so sorry for what you're going through, I hope you can relieve your suffering someway.

Unbelieveable that people would rather watch people in your situation suffer untill death rather than just give you euthanasia, you say you are in hospice and weight as little as you do and that you have to save up the morphine to end your suffering damn that is just evil meanwhile an animal will be put down by breaking a bone while hit by a car.

I hope someone will have an answer for you at the very least my little rant has bumped your thread.

Thank you both! I really wish I lived in a death with dignity state. Hospice is very big on stating that they will do nothing to prolong or hasten death, they simply provide comfort care. However there's not much comfort to be had wasting away day after day in bed. I do appreciate that I no longer have to go to doctors and hospitals, and don't have to go through worthless tests and take a bunch of pills. But laying here for weeks will drive me flipping crazy!

No idea what the answer to your question is...however. I am pretty sure it's significantly more than what you have.
I am an opiate junkie and could easily use 1/2 your bottle in a day.

The reason I am responding is to encourage you to play the game with hospice so they will increase your dosages, making it quicker to stash what you need.
Complain of pain, often....even after you have taken (or they think you have taken) a dose. Make grunting (aka im in pain) sounds when you move, etc etc etc.

I suppose you're right, I'll just play the game. I haven't needed much morphine yet, but I have been using the Ativan, which already seems to work poorer after only a couple weeks. Crazy how fast our bodies adjust to these meds! I'd be worried about getting addicted if I weren't, ya know, dying ;-). Happy accident discovered. I tolerate next to no food. My mom bought be some soft serve ice cream (haven't had it in over 10 years due to my gut issues), on a whim and I kind of tolerated it. It tasted so good! Man do I ever miss food!

Digging up this old thread to see if any drug experts have joined since I first posted this. I'm still in hospice (at home), and not much had changed health wise. I have some days where I'm more or less functional, and others where I pretty well sleep all day. I've been hoarding the bulk of my morphine and Ativan to prepare for an overdose. They've also added trazadone and gabapentin, but those are probably worthless. I have plenty of anti nausea meds (zofran, phenergan, compazine, domperidone).

How much morphine/Ativan would be fatal? Is there a chart somewhere? I know drug overdoses are iffy, but it's all I got. The morphine I have comes in a bottle that says 20mg per ml and there are 30 ml in the bottle. I will soon have 2 full bottles. The Ativan has 2mg per ml, and also in 30ml bottle. I have a bottle of that, plus quite a lot of Ativan pills and some clonazapam as well.

I'm about 76 pounds and 4'4 inches. Would 1200 MG of liquid morphine (hope I figured that right, as my brain is kind of worthless these days) and 60MG of benzod be enough, or should I hold out for one more bottle of morphine (probably take another month to get it). Is swallowing okay, or should I learn to inject? I'm sure I could order needles online if I need to. Lastly, is death by morphine painful? Thank you!
