  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

12 hours is almost laughable.

I could die and go unnoticed for 4-7 weeks pretty easily.

Friends come and go, but I haven't had a friend who was that attentive in years. That's kind of depressing, but also a sign that maybe it's time.

Just so you know, your post comes across in a somewhat insulting way to those that have beliefs that differ from your own.....
You seem to have a certain intellectual arrogance.

There are plenty of people who believe in an afterlife....
I understand your reaction, it's valid in that it's the way you feel and no one deny it. I don't mean to be arrogant; was late at night and perhaps I didn't soften my words as much as I should have.

My genuine apologies: everyone has a right to believe what they want.

I'm a long-time atheist, over 50 years. I like to say that I'm a devout atheist.

Have very little patience with all the goodbye threads wishing the person a safe journey (where do they think he's going?) or vowing to see them on the other side (the other side? You're kidding , right).

I'm not considering suicide, I'm doing it this March. Don't have the slightest fear, truthfully. Many regrets about things I've done or not done in my life, but no fear.

I'm not journeying or traveling or floating on angel's wings to some never-never land, I'm going to die. Die dead. Permanently. Just like a horse, a dog, a worm, a protozoa. Cessation of all chemical and electrical processes in the body.

I've always thought that all the world's talk and obsession with heaven, some irrational afterlife, is simply the fear of death. We can't really imagine being DEAD, so we invent something that sounds nicer.

End of rant.:heh:
It's nice to see someone that thinks this between all the fairy tales and religious references. refreshing!:P

Only just noticed your reply. Thanks for the apology.
