Anyone else deal with this? The hatred of sound. Especially coughing, clearing of the throats, loud chewing, dishes clanking together. It makes me so angry and have to isolate . How do you deal?

like nails on a chalkboardI just focus an ANYTHING else but my husband slurping his drink! My gosh it drives me NUTS!!
No kidding! I would have thought the look I give him would have been a clue ... But nope. He is completely oblivious to how what he does affects others. We fight so much about " important shit" that I just grit my teeth and order another glass of wine ...like nails on a chalkboard
Yep,it's honestly one of main reasons I like working nights so I don't have to hear my coworkers chewing around me all day.Anyone else deal with this? The hatred of sound. Oh god. So lots of sounds are a problem for my ptsd, but as to just annoyance, I'd forgotten how much I hate slurping sounds. Those just make me want to die.I just focus an ANYTHING else but my husband slurping his drink! My gosh it drives me NUTS!!
I can't stand the sound of "wet" chewing especially if they chew with their mouth open. I've heard this often happens with noises associated with traumas. In my case it kinda makes sense.Anyone else deal with this? The hatred of sound. Especially coughing, clearing of the throats, loud chewing, dishes clanking together. This made my day. I visualize launching a spear through my wife's cat when it grooms itself. I would never do that of course, ever, it's just what flashes into my mind before I put on headphones to drown out the slurp, slurp, slurp, ARRGG!It's a real thing. There are certain sounds that when I hear them make me instantly angry. That drive me crazy within seconds.
Dog barking. The way our cat drinks water. The sound of paper rubbing together.
Absolutely maddening.
Oh ya all that puts me in a fight or flight mode. Its awful huhYes and I think it extends to outdoor noises such as hearing loud bass from cars.
Two years ago I was having meltdowns for half the fucking year because I felt like I was being water-boarded having to hear this loud ass nigga-bass from the street.
And yes I've always hated the sound of people chewing, smacking, or snoring.
I also hate the sound of children "singing".
I have it terribly from a brain injury.Anyone else deal with this? The hatred of sound. Especially coughing, clearing of the throats, loud chewing, dishes clanking together. It makes me so angry and have to isolate . How do you deal?
