I feel like a poser on here, but have anyone ever listened to The House of Atreus: Act I and Act II by Virgin Steele? As an ancient Greece aficionado I used to play it on repeat a few years ago. I know their reception by the coinosseurs' audience was lukewarm though, and I'm too ignorant about metal (and music in general) to really formulate a competent judgment. I think the last songs of the second album in particular may evoke our favourite subject somehow.

Please trash me for my taste if you think it's right. Here is the first track:

This is rather niche, but I really enjoy this band. The fragment from 7:45 onwards is pure poetry. One of the best DSBM tracks out there in my opinion.

Interesting, I haven't heard of them. There's no metal connoisseurs so like what you like. I don't know all the sub genres of metal and don't give them much heed other than a quick "nah, not really into that sound" but I'm willing to give it a try. I miss the days when genres were: country, r&b, pop, and rock. My listening bounces around depending on what I'm doing or the mood I'm in but like Monty Burns "I know what I hate, and I don't hate this".
