"Death metal" anchor chains!

I just stumbled upon this short video and found it quite astonishing: apparently large steel chains in enclosed spaces can kill you by suffocation because their rusting surface has depleted the space of all oxygen!
Have people died from this? It sounds like it, but I'd need to look into it further.
Could this info be used to CTB? Highly unlikely. I just thought it was quite interesting anyway.

I saw a reddit post about this subject like yesterday. And also quite time ago. So I guess internet is truly the great recycler.

And the oxygen depletion due rusting: I guess someone might have accidentally died because of this before problem was recognized. And someone might accidentally die nowadays if regulations are not followed. Safety standards and care about sailors can be quite minimal.

But definitely one more hazard/"opportunity" on a big ship.
