  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

And if gene medicine doesn't work on fixing us and others that don't seem to be able to adapt and thrive, then you can rant all you want about environment and the self.

Gene expression is important too but if you don't have them in the first place they cannot express.

First step: Everyone needs to get their genes sequenced along with relevant data about conditions and experiences, this needs to be analyzed.
Second step: Splurge loads and tons of money into gene editing research and tech development.
Third: Splurge loads and tons of money into gene editing services so they can become available at a reasonable cost.

Level the playing field as much as possible by uplifting the performance and experience of the ones that are at a biological disadvantage first.

Then we can argue about the responsibility and accountability of the self and the environment as causes and solutions to social problems leading to people doing things you don't like or approve.

Don't come up with BS theories about how this or that won't work or how this or that would backfire in your imaginary stories so you can justify your laziness and justify a right to complain about people.

If you are too lazy about it and don't want to contribute to real science, real answers, and real solutions, then don't try anything else and don't complain.

If you are so proud and have so much ego and don't feel like you want to level the playing field then f#$koff and never look back. Just keep doing your thing in your own circles in your life just like you have and leave us alone.

Everyone should contribute to finding truth in science first and only instead of complaining about people you don't understand or cannot fully help.

Other than this, let me just tell you that most of us here are not like you in that most have come to terms with our death, we don't despise it so much like you by thinking we will, or could, or might live forever, become immortal in some way. We don't embrace very much this part of the ego that comes from the survival instinct even thou everyone seem to have it.

They'll likely be scared and mortified so much after reading this post that they will jump out of their desk and shut the computer off immediately or throw their cellphone from the horror of some painful truth revealed showcasing their flawed approach.

I mean, they sure won't just shrug it off and call it BS and yell some random convictions since people are reasonable, evidence based, thinking, and caring individuals that strive for truth above comfort.

I can definitely picture an army of militants right now chanting "no more wars, no more death, level the playing field first. no more poverty, life is unfair, level the playing field first" with signs showcasing scifi gene editing techniques and other related images, as a reasonable outcome.

Yes, everyone deserves equal opportunities. An even playing field would fix a lot of problems.

We need higher quality mental health services. I've had really sick interviews with people.

Reach out more to those in need.

DO something about bullying.

Better health services, no more mistakes that cost people their quality of life. Better pain medications for all that have to live with mistakes and conditions.

Teach respect to everyone, no matter their background or condition.

Since we don't live in the future, respect our feelings and wishes.

I doubt it tbh. Imo it's worth remembering that suicide is an inherently unnatural act and to expect to ANNIHILATE pro-life ideology using REASON and LOGIC on an actual suicide forum doesn't enhance anyone's ability to ctb beyond that which already exists.

I guess at least it doesn't hurt to try make people see reason.

I don't think this view on "if you can't investigate the playing field and level the playing field then leave us alone" is anti-prolife. Its pro-life in the sense of saying "work on making life actually and materially better first in what and in how it actually matters to you and to us and not in the way you think helps and believe should matter to us".

If a pro-lifer is completely against it its because they, as far as charity goes, are lazy deluded egocentric bums that would like to please themselves and maybe others a little bit by making a huge infected wound feel better by applying a homemade slime plaster made out of random shrubs they found on their backyard and expect the victim to feel so grateful for it, call it a blessing, and become so empowered they suddenly out of nowhere begin to thrive by the powers of love and magic.

It could be better than nothing for some, certainly not better than nothing for others that would actually prefer nothing over this plaster of random shrub slime you made that could actually hurt them even more, but its not a cure, don't expect it to be a solution.

This is not how it works and it shouldn't work.

In my opinion it's self-indulgent. There are many people who have come here because they are suicidal, in that they genuinely desire a ceasing of their own existence, and when in that situation people generally recognise that suicidal ideation is not accepted as a natural impulse by the wider society. They don't need to spend time churning out essays to a faceless section of society that has ultimately no say in whether they are able to ctb or not, as to do so would be futile. I would also add that the reasons for suicidal impulse are many and varied and rarely boil down to the one or two influences cited in these lengthy posts, such as yours.

Literally no pro-lifer is going to log on here, read any of these posts and think "hell, actually maybe life is bad suicide is good" - and even if they did, what then? What has really, ultimately, been achieved?
