• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Why is it that any kind of mental health professionals never listen to me like I talk but they aren't actually hearing me I've tried for 3 months took my meds attended every appointment apart from the ones these people don't show up to with no call to say they aren't coming and I'm just left to literally rot. Other than my amazing counsellor the only other place I get support is from here. They just don't get it telling me to think of other things instead of wanting to end my life mate if I could of done that wouldn't I of done it already ffs how half these mental health people are still in a job is beyond me.when they do show up they act like they don't want to be there anyway. how many times I gotta try before I give up I'm sick of trying it's so exhausting it really is sorry needed to vent

That was my experience in a nutshell. It's their job. They do the minimum at their job too. They are people who don't know the answers and can't do a good job too.

Even if a degree is required, you don't know if that person was an A student who really learned or was a C student who barely passed. Ask yourself, if you go to a doctor... would you want the A student or the C student? Do you want the one who can diagnose in very narrow ranges of specific very obvious symptoms OR the one who can process nuance and context and extrapolate to real-world situations for more complex diagnoses?

There are probably good ones, it seems there ought to be just by the percentages... but how can you really know? Also, even the best ones can get it wrong and maybe you;re the one they just get wrong.

Yes mental health resources are complete garbage. On the psychiatry side they just push medicines on you that never work or only work for a short period of time. Therapists just give you childish coping skills that seem almost offensive. Debilitating anxiety? Try breathing exercises :D Chronic mental illness? Say 3 nice things about yourself :) Its all a waste of time. Self medicating is the only true relief from this hell

Tell me about it or in my case the mental health worker from community treatment team never shows up either calls and cancels as he has to see someone else or just doesn't show up at all so I get pushed to the side and it makes me feel even more worthless

It's the biggest scam, and I hate myself for creating more demand for mental health services by using them. People are getting paid for just sitting there handing out toxic positivity and stopping me from ending my life. And the worst part is they get to feel like they did something good.

Because they can't really relate. They know the world is doomed and that nothing can be done about it, so they're just doing what they can in the meantime for a paycheck to survive in this hellhole, just like everyone else.

They can listen as attentively as they want but they will still hold their judgments and opinions to be correct over whatever you think.

Long ago, I came to a conclusion that even when willing, normal people simply can't relate. Their brains just aren't wired that way. It's nobody's faults.

Therapists are educated, they understand in a conceptualized sense, but as they are normal, they can't relate.

We'll never reach an understanding.

Many animals can see more colors than humans, we don't know what the world looks like to them. Normal people don't have these feelings, they don't know how living feels to us.

I mean dont know your situation but I have no natural social supports. You try anything they call you crazy so they don't have to be accountable get out of work free card basically. It's entirely dependent on how much they want to care about you. In my experience that borders on or is none at all. Basically it comes down to they have a get out work(ing hard) jail free card. Also you do do something untoward well again you were crazy nothing they could do. You were unsaveable. Basically if you have no one in your corner they don't have to. And in my experience they dont. Then if you are alive despite them not doing anything it is proof the system somehow works.

Also this means those rare ones that do care and those that do try are drowned in people and work until they get jaded and the cycle continues.

Ive written my story about why I am here and also my experiences in MH care in hospital etc... elsewhere. But yeah I can't say I disagree.
