Discussion MDB rival company got reported

Heads up; MDB's rival company got a nasty gram from a pro-lifer who is reporting his company. I spoke with him yesterday and he said that this happened a few days ago. (She said his company is being talked about on a "suicide site", i'm assuming this one- and that he's "killing people"). So.. idk how much longer he is going to last. Maybe it will be fine though.

I would suggest not mentioning the company by name as most people here already know which one I'm talking about or can find out. He's been doing pretty good at staying under the radar.

there are pro lifers among us so might as well not do that.

Nietschke and his MDB company is a blatant rip-off that targets desperate old folks. The more competition they have, the better.

If the rival company is being threatened, I wouldn't be surprised if PN or his lackeys are somehow involved. The only reason they are getting away with selling cheap repurposed chinese oxygen regulators at an obscene profit, is the relative monopoly they possess over the market, and the target audience.

In theory, this forum providing free access to his PPH, and alternatives to things like MDB, could well be some of the biggest threats to his little side-hustles. That would be motive enough.

If MDB can remain in business despite all the publicity and opposition that Exit and PN receive, but this little mom-and-pop rival company goes down- that would be a definite red flag.

The regulator works as far as I can tell but he sent me the wrong part to go with the regulator for the piping and I had to find and buy my own as a replacement for the price he charges I thought it was pretty outrageous to send parts that are incompatible.

Yeah that's the company they mean. Haha...it's funny how I know exactly who you're talking about when you say prominent blogger. I also find it hard to believe they are not somehow involved with this company. But they make some good posts.

No because I didn't open the package for a couple of months after receiving. Also it took weeks to get here and I don't want to wait that long for a replacement especially since I already found one and have set everything up.

Why is it sketchy? I've bought both regulator and SN from there and all arrived well and good. People here have ctb with his SN. I'm not doing SN anymore because I have nitrogen and SN just sounds like a horrible way to die.

Fair enough. At least they come through on the ordered goods. I guess I mean more the goofy SN page as well as the price, in addition to just a general uneasiness with the idea of a business idea centered around helping people kill themselves.

However, that's exactly what D does (or whatever the current initial is), so I suppose I kind of teeter back and forth about my opinion on this idea. Just something about their site design in particular rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it was the "salty nutrition" or whatever that just was goofy, lol.

I'm glad that it worked out well for you and for anyone else who's had success using their service. If I were looking for a regulator as well, I'm sure I'd have considered it.

Ideally I would have also liked to buy locally but for whatever reason we don't sell clickstyle regulators here. I looked and looked and no luck. So it was mdb or this guy. And mdb said it takes six or more weeks to ship out. And I was like...meh.
I'm still a bit sketchy on the regulator. Like I've tested it and it works but I haven't kept it on for half an hour so I hope it will do the job and not crap out half way through. I don't know where they're manufactured but it does look like some of the parts have been put together by hand.

Good points-I suppose "beggars can't be choosers" when it comes to this sort of thing. Thanks for the info.

EDIT: God damn I hadn't seen MDB site in ages. Yes the design is goofy as hell, especially with that big image in the middle- looks like the MDB logo is (poorly) photoshopped onto those people's shirts, and the blur on the guy in the middle's eyes.....nightmare fuel haha.

I know exactly what you mean, I just refuse to direct people to these sources. But if someone is hell-bent on using N then there are not many options sadly.

Certainly lots of N scams though. Makes me sad. Those websites are fully-fleshed out too-I think to the average joe they'd be quite convincing. Why I'm glad for SS which lets us make better decisions using community knowledge.

Something is fishy, but there is no way to prove anything, so I avoided any accusations. Making some good posts is fine, but still everything written here should be taken with a grain of salt. I hope the rant I had the other day makes more sense now.
