I cant find what that something is. If I can I would probably just CTB anyway. What do you think that something is for you, do you have any guesses? I think for me… I dont know tbh…

No, I see existence as being a curse, it could never be a "gift" being given the ability to suffer endlessly in this harmful world filled with endless torture and senseless cruelty. It's tragic how life even exists in the first place and how there isn't nothing instead, only nothingness is acceptable to me. I see procreating into this hellish reality where suffering and decay are inevitable as being a terrible crime, it's a punishment existing here.

Why is this in the suicide discussion anyways?

I do believe that life is a gift in general as it offers countless possibilities for us but sadly the outcome isn't always the best.

If life is a gift then I personally don't want it.

I mean yeah- there are some INCREDIBLE things in this world. Music being one of them. I guess it just depends on the person really. Some people can put up with the bad stuff because they really value the things they love- and do what they can to maximise that part of their life. Some people of course have less bad stuff to contend with- so maybe that's easier. I truly believe some people do value their lives as a gift. I've known some like that... I just wish we'd been given a gift receipt.

Do you think that applies to every individual? Some people love life and see the existence as a gift of opportunities that they use pretty well. I was once one of them. It's just not meant for every one of us to succeed. I think we all deserve an opportunity to choose if we want to stop pointless suffering or fight for better life.

Seems like a better thread to be placed in the recovery section of the forum to me. I do agree with the other posters that gifts should come with receipts lol for one man's treasure can be another man's trash and the playing ground is often far from equal.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

Pain is both more intense than any supposed pleasure , and pain is longer lasting in duration. Just take one example the extreme torture that not eating food for a long time starvation is unrelenting unending constant torture. then some people say they get pleasure out of eating food but that is fleeting and nothing compared to long term starvation.

Eating is just satisfying an animal need that doesn't need to exist. The only positives are to remove negatives food to remove the pain of hunger. other things to remove boredom etc.

Plus any supposed positive experience will be forgotten once the human dies and not exists forever. all memories will be gone forever as if they never existed. Nothing will remain of what a human does in a life because every human will die and not exist forever. For example will it matter if I do something tomorow in 200 years, 500 years? , 1000 years , 10,000 years ? no.

See how Junko Furuta was tortured. She was 16 healthy popular .but then one day was kidnapped and tortured severely for 44 days. what is worth that ? nothing imo.

I fear remaining alive another day , so many horrible things can happen to a human as we've seen so many horrible things happen to people. I don't see how most humans don't realize the risk they are under and for what reason to work so hard every day just to remain under such threats..

I'm a male chimpanzee but I can be tortured too by humans , old age, an aneurysm, stroke, a fungus , bacteria 1000's of things.

I read many stories . One guy 27 one day just couldn't move only his eyes one day but still conscious .

Another one day a fungus ate his face and he had to get prosthetics for his face.

Its a gift if the good completely outweighs the bad. For me, it does not. Being born the wrong sex and having to live every day with that knowledge outclasses any good that could happen to me.

It would be incredible if art was all it took to want to live. This is an interesting list, because all of the above composers dealt with mental illness or alcoholism. Mozart and Schubert only lived to their early thirties.

For me, some combination of physical, financial, social, and psychiatric stability is a needed foundation for being able to find art life-sustaining. But these things are not needed to foster the creation of art.

Earth is hell , survival of fittest. Wtf is that. Pain, disease, murder, war , rape, animals eating each others , even the good things happening doesn't make it for all the crap that is happening on earth.

We are in hell my brothers and sisters with some level of comfort.

Religions think we are going to hell or heaven depending on what to do in your life, well , spoilers for them , we are already in hell. Heaven was the billions or trillions years of peacefulness before i was born. That was heaven.

Peacefulness = Heaven.

SI > suicide for most of us sadly.
