  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Maybe it would be a good idea to moving/copy/create sites like SS in Dark Web/TOR?

As I said a long time ago, it's only a matter of time before all pro-choice sites like this one will be closed. There is no other reasonable way out but to create similar sites in the Dark Web. Pro-lifers and governments will never allow such sites to exist for long in the public domain. And without discussing the methods, the site loses its main meaning.

Also being in the Dark Web will give much more anonymity and security for users and moderators. And much more freedom of speech. Remove unnecessary attention.

I only access this site from my phone. If we were to do that, someone please explain to me how to get to the 'dark web'

Same here. Don't know a thing about the dark web other than it exists.

This site is perfectly legal where i live, but i also like the idea of a darknet site, it has its pros and cons. On the other hand i think its important that everyone above 18 can discuss these topics on the clear web.

Edit
The dark net can be accessed with the tor browser (windows, Linux, android, apple)

I am surprised it's not already on the dark web :) Hopefully no one will be "accountable" for suicides here by some strange, foregin law.

It's indeed a good idea to have a site like SS on the dark web, but this forum needs to exist on the open web! It has to!

We cannot just give up and let the vile, uncouth hordes such as NYT, PBS, that senator bitch, Fixthe26 gang and others shut this site down for good.

This forum's right to exist on the open web goes beyond the right of suicidal people to find a place to hang out on the internet. It's also about protecting the right to freedom of expression and the (relatively) free nature of the internet.

So I'm not very informed on this subject, but theres a special browser called TOR, and you can access the dark web with it. It keeps you anonymous through a special procedure, I can't really remember how it exactly works but, its kind of like how you're harder to spot if you're in a big crowd. All the IPs are tumbled together and thus it becomes harder to pinpoint who is who. Because of this the connection is also slower, but I used it once, its not that bad.

IDK if theres a mobile version of TOR but I wouldn't be surprised if there was. Somebody could explain this better than me.

I just looked up the Apple store and found a TOR browser for free.

All you need is to download the tor browser from this site (it's free, for phone or pc).

Launch it, wait until it connects to the tor network (it will be written there "connecting to TOR releay", usually very fast) and use it just like a regular Firefox browser.

Well there ya go! Be warned that, I guess government agencies aren't too fond of TOR existing but, I think thats because TOR back in the day was used widely for certain kinds of transactions and abhorrent photography if you get my drift. If you ain't doing either of those then I doubt anyone gives a crap.

I totally agree, but it would be wise to have a backup plan. A safety net if things go really bad (which is very likely, it is naive to underestimate the fanatical desire of various people to remove such sites).

One thing to keep in mind - sites on the dark web are usually very basic. Tor turns off scripting by default. So imagine a forum from the mid 1990's, and that's what ss on the dw would be.

A forum member already created a backup site, and almost nobody is using it. TOR version would have even less users.

Because very few people know about it. And so far this one works.

Funny enough it was the US Government that created the technology :pfff:

You don't need to explain anything to me. I wasn't asking questions, but giving additional info.

There was also an unrelated TOR version of Sanction Suicide, years before this site was even created.

Yes! Its very ironic. The dark web is the equivalent of civilians creeping around an abandoned government facility.

Usually the Tor Browser / Onion Browser works for accessing the TOR on mobile.

Nevertheless, no one said anything about moving yet and we shouldn't move as it's not needed. This website is not illegal.

Yes. It was a military project. It's open source though, so if there were anything suspicious on the code, we would know.

This website is not illegal.

Yes, for now, but the most important thing has been removed from it, for which the majority came here: methods. And it is not known whether it had to be done forever or temporarily.

If there was a TOR version, you could talk more freely about sources too, no?
