Ironic how a lot of us are missing those things in real life which drives us to here.

I understand what you mean. The fact is most people in the world seem to be assholes or stupid...or both. I think the people that come to this forum have a certain state of mind and can truly understand what you're going through.


I'm very fortunate to have a caring family. But I realize many people have nobody they can talk to in person. Just know if you ever want to talk,the users on this forum are here for you! I am too until I end my life.

There is more compassion, empathy, sympathy, humanity, everything on this forum than I've ever encountered in the real world. Maybe it's because we're all in the same position, I don't know, but it's a beautiful slice of hell.

Yeah, in fact this is the best forum for coping that I've been to for all time. I'm not motivated anymore to make new friends in real life, because I'm scared of disappointment. One of the reasons why I came here is because I haven't found true love in my daily life. This is where I can vent without worrying about shallow advice or cliche quotes.

compassion and empathy and the care for another human-being don't come so easily for many, cause they've had the perfect life and haven't filled the different array of emotions that those whom struggle with mental health feel.

i guess going through you're own pain and suffering makes you much more emotionally aware, because you know how it feels to be broken and alone and in pain, and you don't want another person to feel like that.

Yes, I feel the same way too. I find that people on here are more understanding and empathetic than people I met IRL. People IRL just suck for the most part and make things about them, especially the really patronizing types who think they know what's best. Also, on here, I am able to talk openly and honest about my views regarding death, suicide, and various topics without fear of judgment.

This is one of the most supportive places on the internet. Sure, there have been a few times of drama, controversy or whatnot, but it made a positive impact on me overall. Perhaps the pain brings us together and makes us be just a bit kinder to each other. We don't want want anyone else to go through what we are going through.

Never mind the real world, this is one of the few places on the internet that isn't toxic at all. I've lurked forums for nearly two decades. Its weird at the end of my life I found somewhere perfect.

It's perfectly explained. We are on the darkest of paths and we walk it together. Who else could understand but others that we walk beside?

I've been thinking that for a very long time now... I find it hard to comprehend how people are irl.

It is very difficult to have empathy for a situation that is alien to you. People not on this path can't be blamed for their inability to understand. I wouldn't have understood four years ago before I got ill.
Feeling this way comes with the gift of empathy and compassion. But would I sacrifice those gifts to go back to having a life? Yes. In a heartbeat.

I think if someone would have shown me genuine care for my well being I wouldn't be in the position I'm in now. I could have really used compassion. Now, I feel like it's too late. I'm too broken and shattered for compassion to really matter.

I think the kindest and most compassionate people have been the other patients I have met in the psych hospital who are also suffering. It says something about the world we live in. It seems being an empathetic person is actually a weakness and causes pain because most people just don't care. As well as here of course.
