XII - THE HANGED MAN
Mar 24, 2021
118
Hello guys, I wanted to tell you about some friend who most likely committed suicide. He was a homeless man around 40 years old who made a living robbing makeup stores and selling what he stole. He lived behind my uncles restaurant and was a friend of mine and my uncles. He was a drug addict and you know all the homeless things. The point is that nobody respect him, he was less valuable than a dog in the perspective of most people. But he overall was a good friend, yeah he was a thief and stuff but he treated me well so that is what matters right? Well, I think he was kind of jealous of me. I was like the perfect boy, I had academic excellence even when my English was not my native language, (I live in the United States and I speak Spanish) I was the president of a school club, I I helped my uncles at work, and I almost got a girlfriend I didn't even like, it was just to make my uncles proud of me. What brad didn't know was that I wanted to fucking end it all because it was all so boring and so dumb. I did not feel any satisfaction in my "achievements" and all that bullshit. Now a year later, I'm an absolute loser, I do not want to go to university nor work or do anything "productive" in general. So that, I'm just like my homie Brad.

And that got me thinking, why are there losers in this world? There are people who are simply born to be successful and people who are not? Like Brad and me.
Sometimes it doesn't matter how hard you try to be successful for society, it never feels good to be successful, at least that's the way it is in my case.
Nobody really treated Brad like a human, and to be honest even I didn't treat him well because he was a "loser"
I don't really understand this world, why are there "successful people" and "losers"

I don't even know what I'm writing about, I'm just assimilating the death of my friend who I didn't treat well. Everything is so sad, so uncontrollable and so empty.
Are there people who are really happy? Because when I had "everything" I didn't feel anything. And now that I have nothing, I still feel nothing.
No matter what I do, everything feels out of my control.

I don't really understand this world either. Yes, everything is so sad, uncontrollable & empty, but one day we'll be free from all this meaningless suffering, just like Brad...

successful people are vampires. Their success absolutely require the misery of others. Their excess is based on other peoples lack. What they have doesn't come from thin air lol.

basically equality is a myth. It's attainable but not really.

It's utlitimately the fault of parents. Who are willing to reproduce knowing that their child will be nothing more than food for the elite.

This is the truly disturbing part ifyour ask me. Parents are disgusting. Their level of selfishness is nauseating.

Those 'losers' of the world have received a terribly unfortunate mix of genes & environment. Hopefully we can one day learn exactly which genes, and which environmental factors lead to outcomes like Brad, so then we can work to ensure nobody has to suffer that kind of hellish outcome in their lives. What a great day that will be, certainly better than today's backwards appeal to the nonsense of free will which would have us believe Brad freely chose his fate, and couldve easily become a millionaire entrepreneur if only he had freely chosen a bit better yaknow?

This world is generally unfair. How successful somebody is, is more down to luck, it is all random, rather than hard work. We might think we have control but we really don't. Sometimes we can put in effort and a factor out of our control can ruin everything. Some people are just disadvantaged from the start through no fault of their own. This world can be very cruel, there is just so much pointless suffering.

And also just because someone appears to have 'everything' doesn't mean they are immune to suicidal thoughts, we are all individuals and we see the world differently, what might satisfy somebody else (such as having achievements) might not make us want to live.

basically equality is a myth. It's attainable but not really.
Life thrives on inequality by means of evolution, for there must be winners and losers.
Existence itself is unthinkable without inequality.
Beautiful and ugly, high and low, heavy and light, dark and bright, strong and weak, fast and slow; all these words and the concepts they represent only exist due to inequality. Only in a universe devoid of matter could there exist true equality. Death is the closest man can get to this state.
No political, economical or philosophical system can create equality. Nothing addresses the true root of the problem.
Not everybody deserve their success
Being deserving of something is a very ill-defined concept in general.
This world is generally unfair.
We only perceive the world as unfair because we want it to be fair, a tautological observation. Nature is not concerned with fairness, as the idea of something being fair is a man made concept; the world simply is. This almost mocking indifference on nature's part is worse than the idea of a malevolent demon pulling strings behind the scenes to make life unfair. Our suffering does not even serve the amusement of an evil deity, thus depriving it of the last possible justification. Our suffering is the result of unintelligent processes and forces, leaving us with no target at which to direct our existential wrath. In some cases, we then direct this anger at ourselves, and I speak from experience.

There are losers and succesful people because not everyone was meant to *life*. It sounds harsh but it's the truth. That's why we need euthanasia because being a loser means immense amount of pain and suffering besides the inevitable suffering we get during our lifetime. But of course humans are sadists and won't allow euthanasia be legal because they need laughing stock.

Cosmic dice-roll at birth determines everything. You're either lucky or unlucky. Both of which come in degrees. Duality on the checkerboard of existence.

I am so happie for you and your homie!!

I was friend with total loser, bad house, no father, bullied. He even told me he wants to ctb 10 years before I was even to start thinking about this. Some people have nothing going for them. I t makes me feel guilty of enjoying life for some reason as I did nothing to deserve it.

don't really understand this world, why are there "successful people" and "losers"
This notion of a 'successful' person against a 'loser' is only a concept that was designed to convince people to participate in society. Society, like politicians, need people (and problems) in order to continue functioning. If you are a loser, you are only one because you think you are. Please don't think like this. Every human is different. Major entities of society are the bodies responsible for developing these qualitative and unfortunate quantitative measures of what life is "ought" to be.
it never feels good to be successful,
Successful is entirely subjective. You don't need to be like other people in order to be successful. Take a look at history. Think about gardeners, farmers, craftsman, labourers, artists, writers, musicians, etc.

No matter what I do, everything feels out of my control.
I'm not certain the level of happiness within people or the extent of our society that is, however I will say your life is what you make of it. I am suicidal, I am depressed, but I do still experience happiness from time to time however momentarily it may be. After all, it is only a state of emotion. It's not permanent.

Perhaps many feel out of control due to the amount of excess . . .

I'm glad you've found your friend.

Euthanasia will never be accepted because society needs an underclass of losers to do jobs that no one else is willing to do.

I often think about what 'success' actually is, and know that I would still be depressed and suicidal, if I had accomplished what is deemed successful.

Even for me. Qualifying in a profession at the age of 22. I felt optimistic and relieved that I had more freedom, but that joy lasted for a couple months.

Dreams & aspirations are just distractions used to stimulate the neurotransmitters into giving life meaning.

Just look at the amount of people who you would think are successful that end up committing suicide.

Our whole purpose in life is to survive for as long as we possibly can. This is why humans are selfish. We're at the top of the food chain and control the planet's resources because we want our lives to last longer.

It's like we have this default setting in our subconscious that we all have to keep surviving no matter what.
