Except that things won't work that easily.
After all, some individuals want to recover but don't want to get help from specialists (for obvious reasons )

With contentious issue like euthansia there is a legal grey area of sorts which can be exploited in order to persecute or ban discussion or information sharing over it. Rights are only valid when they are popularized by mainstream and vice versa. If this website get enough bad attention it could cause translate into not very good things. If powers that be decide it is illegal or good enough voices advocating to shut it down then it could be dangerous. I however think there wont be a problem in the long run for this website. It think will remain

These letters are absolutely toothless and serve only to demonstrate to voters that the representative is "doing" something other than fundraising. The U.S. has much bigger priorities than to thwart a niche suicide forum where nothing illegal is even happening. Still, it is interesting to see how this site is being portrayed in the mainstream. Yet again, no efforts to investigate what drives people to visit a forum like this in the first place. Just cut and paste the hotline number and that should take care of the problem.

It probably works for some people that are desperately on the edge between choosing between continued existence or suicide. But you also know they will never actually help you do it, which means they are excluding a lot of people that might otherwise have given them a chance. Some of which might still have found an acceptable way to live. It's the tragedy of suicide hotlines that by not contemplating suicide as an acceptable outcome, that they are failing to prevent certain suicides.

If they actually took the time to look at this website instead of simply repeating what they're told, they might just see how supportive this place actually is. I don't like political representatives telling me what I can and cannot do so I call for their own websites to be shut down and bring them up on charges of endangering vulnerable and suicidal people through their own chosen rhetoric.
Seriously, if they would just truly look at what's happening here, maybe they could legislate something that will help instead of denying what millions of people think about every day.

It dates back to December, 21st as well and so far it seems they haven't done anything, imo they're just doing that because they want to gather votes from parents who want to "protect their children".
