Saw this video on locating the carotid. Tried it immediately and was able to locate it in the first attempt. After pressing on for about 10 seconds I started getting light on the head and my right hand became very numd and loose and was not able.to press it anymore. I guess I hit the bullseye. Try it and Let me know how it went.

it feels kind of good. makes me nervous about doing it recreationally. it still took me a second to locate them but they're basically under the jaw like he said.

For me, it's either entertainment or addiction. When I'm stressed and I don't want to think about anything, I squeeze them almost to unconsciousness. I disconnect from reality a little bit and I love this feeling. My whole body is numb and my arms and legs are shaking. I would be the happiest if I knew that they can be squeezed forever.

I literally pissed myself when I tried partial suspension. And it was a thoroughly unpleasant sense of panic. I failed CBT with it and I won't be trying it again in a hurry 😭 I wish there was an easier way to die

i keep telling myself to man up and do full suspension, but there's literally no way for me to practice since i can only do it once. i just end up choking myself with the rope when i try to do partial. i'm so sorry you had such a bad experience with it. i would definitely panic and feel really bad if i was conscious that i was pissing myself. that's why i'm nervous about hanging myself in my closet because it would make such a bad smell in the house.

i used (like middle school) to choke myself as self harm but i wouldn't ever press on the carotids because i put my hands too low, so it would mostly be a choking feeling. i liked the feeling of pressure and it would stop all my thoughts too. but it never made me lightheaded and mostly hurt. putting pressure on my carotids is really different because it kind of has an airy feeling, like i'm floating. i read a post a few days ago warning to not press on your carotids too much or you'll get addicted.

I'd never do full suspension, not after my experiences with partial. To force oneself into that, no thanks. I don't think life can throw enough at me to make me prefer that death over life.

I don't care how I'm found. I don't care if or how I'm found at all. If I could have a death that isn't intolerable and doesn't harm anyone more than my natural death, I'd go for it.

Choking scares the shit out of me so hanging/ligature stuff isn't gonna work. The practice/spot finding gives me unpleasant sensations like nausea and dizziness but nothing near unconsciousness.

I have one much-warned-against method on my mind: cutting. I wonder if I could cut my carotid. That would be game over. I know bleeding out = cold, so I'd go in a bath/hot tub above body temp. Although throat cut is probably too fast for that to matter.

Very late to this, but it worked first try. I held it for about 7-ish seconds and started feeling numb and my vision went fuzzy as well.
