There are some critics to certain methods such as SN (how effective and peaceful it is) and I was wondering if it'd be appropriate for someone to live stream a CTB attempt to provide more insight on certain methods if they were willing.

All live streaming platforms I can think of would probably strike down the stream as soon as it's brought to their attention/reported. Does anyone know of a service such as liveleak for streaming?

I'd imagine that if someone was willing to stream their attempt it could be very helpful in deciding whether certain methods are peaceful, how long it takes to CTB, what failure looks like, etc.

Honestly just curious to see what others think.

Yeah that's a way to get the police called on you. Even if it was some timed video or something it's still traumatic to your laved ones/friends, and would likely cause a media circus.

I personally wouldn't take a video of my suicide. I think of it as a private matter and I wouldn't want it to be a big deal. Plus there's the risk of someone calling the police and you getting "saved." However, if someone has the courage to do so, that could be a nice insight into the exit bag or SN. There are many videos of hanging. But SN and the exit bag aren't common methods by any means.

I definitely will... Not live, but rather make mp4 video saved to some Dropbox folder and give access to the select few trusted members here on forum. And if they decide it worth releasing - so be it. I don't mind. :)

Maybe. I was considering it. But it would have to me such an attempt that would kill me 100%

This is actually a better idea then live streaming.

No, and I wouldn't trust a livestream either. People can fake things to screw with the vulnerable population of suicidal people. Imagine somebody pretending to drink bleach and die peacefully, when really they are just drinking water out of a bleach tub and taking a nap.

I wouldn't, personally I dont agree with making CTB a public "event" in my opinion because the people who react to you being gone are the same people who didn't care about you when you around. And I wouldn't give them that satisfaction, Plus that just brings more unwanted attention from those who will never understand anyway.

Apart from fulfilling morbid curiosity, I can imagine such an event being quite boring. "And then he just laid there for ten minutes."

There's little that can't be gleaned by simply sharing relevant information in the usual ways.

It's just going to bring more unwanted negitive attention for those "lost in the grey" as I like to refer to it as. It's a term I use for people who are considering CTB but are uncertain if they want to.

...a media circus which could end up damaging this web site. We have enough bad publicity already. Please don't.

Filming a video of myself dying sounds good, but it's a bad idea for the reasons other people have said already. It'd be nice to be remembered for something, even though it'll probably be forgotten in a week.
