Listening to cheerful songs when feeling depressed

Does listening to cheerful songs, especially old school pop, make you feel less depressed?

Absolutely, high five. They are pretty much the only I still live for.

It depends. Generally, they lift my spirits and make me feel better, but when I'm really low cheerful songs just get on my nerves.

It does sometimes, right? But that I attribute to them being rather simple and in large, made to appeal easily. I hope it isn't mostly true?

Sometimes yes , sometimes no, Mostly no in my case when I'm down, I wanna he hard the opposite type.

Yeah bubbly pop stuff helps me with depression.

Dark songs are for when I'm acutely sad but not depressed.

No, if I listened to that it would just make me want to leave this world even more. Anything which is positive and cheerful makes me feel even worse.

Sometimes less, sometimes more. I tend to listend to darker music when I am at my lowest points, but still tend to avoid songs that I deem to be *too* sad as those can make it worse too
