I hate when ppl say life is short. You know how long it is ? All the women in my mom side live well into their 90s and healthy to?! Dads side 90s and one got into her 100s. I got 60 more years to go if I decide to take care of myself . That's like another persons lifeline. I'm already nearing 30 years in and I didn't start really living until i was 15. So half my life I've lived and I'm so tired already. And my mom sat me down and told me you prob going live until ur 90s. Longevity runs in the family. She can stick around if she wants but their is no way I'mma be 60 years old one day sitting near my 90 year old mom and her telling me "I told you so" like she does with her mom now. My mom is 63 and grandmother is 90 currently. I even met my great grandmother when I was 4 and she was in her 90s. My mom Went out with the photo album and everything. What a generational curse. No way I'm doing that shit! I'm sorry but I won't be around. It's no way. I just don't understand how my grand moms did it? Are they insane?

Health and healing abilities generally start to decline in the 30s. People that live to old age have a much lower and more fragile state. I don't know why anyone considers growing old to be a good thing.

People seem to praise fact that we live longer but they do not realize that many old people lead very lonely, boring and pointless sedentary lifestyles mainly due to health problems of old age. I bet many of them would rather die if method of painless death was easily available for them.

I wouldn't want to live past 40 years old, even if my life turned out much better than it is right now. I only dream of travelling to few places and reading few books at this point. I don't want children nor wife. I can't imagine working some pointless jobs and then living pointless life till I die of old age. If someone has children they may want to live longer until they grow up. Still I can't imagine why anyone would want to live past 65 years old if they raised their children (At the age of 65, quality of human life decreases greatly because at that age health starts to deteriorate rapidly).

I agree, getting old sucks because once you get past a certain age, your overall quality of life deteriorates and from there it only gets worse the older you get. I hate it when people say "life is too short", I mean, I don't even want to live to see 30, (let alone 80 or 90).

Exactly! People should have the right to reliably and peacefully end their own life if they want to, it should be a basic fundamental human right. As a firm believer in quality of life over quantity of life and the right to die, I fucking hate it when people praise the fact we're living longer (thanks to modern medicine) while ignoring actual quality of life.

I can't imagine working some pointless jobs and then living pointless life till I die of old age.

Personally, I don't want to wage-slave my life away until I'm old (and probably end up ridden with chronic health problems by then), then live a pointless, shitty, poor quality life until I die of natural causes.

I think same as you. I don't want to get old. I can't imagine myself being an old man that wasted his life. The simple fact of thinking about that frightens me. I promised myself not to reach the 30s. If I do that I'm a masochist.

That part of life is deadly boring,pointless and depressing to me. Raising children is just boring , long , hard and undesirable. Doing and watching the same thing you went through seeing someone else go through and doing it again?!? .seeing desperate dreamless parents trying to live through them just for it to end in the same disappointing end. I'm not making it past 40 either. For some that's a great life but others nah I'm good. I just started real adult life and all it is is paying bills, pointless ruthless slavery work model that you will be replaced any moment and hearing coworkers complain about children, bad health and sad stories. Whether euthanasia becomes legal I won't be around that long. I already know of 6 people who ended their life short. Might take some tries but I'm not gonna be that foolish old lady who stuck around way to long. Now sitting in the waiting room for her next hip replacement and then back to the casino for another 10-20 years. No thanks

My girlfriend is bless her. She's 40 now and still wants a kid. I admire people that are good at life I'm just not. I skipped being a young person and I think not wanting a job was part of the reason. Maybe for some of us there's just nothing to look forward to once we become adults. To me, the life expectancy is certainly too long. The thought of existing until old age is so horrifying and it would be unbearable for me to stay alive until then. Suicide really should be easier and our right to die should always be respected. I see no point to suffering for decades just to die eventually. If I was gone now it would prevent the chance of things getting so much worse. Existing really is torture and I do not see life as being worth living.
