Does anyone else think about life after death? like what if there is none? or what if it isn't as we want it to be?
does anyone else get scared about the fact that a peaceful life after death may or may not be?

ive seen a lot of videos of clinically dead people talking about seeing life after death but its still such a mystery to know whether its true or whether its a belief that society has engraved in us to give us hope and slight sanity when passing away.

whats everyones thoughts surrounding this topic?

I'd like to think so but logically I'd say not!

I have thought about this often. Taking the biblical view means an eternal death for the likes of me, particularly if I ctb. My companions in my faith have often told me that heaven is not an option for those who choose suicide.

I have a hope that there is a route to redemption and we have a chance to be in eternal peace.

Your companions have no idea what they're talking about...
Nowhere in the Bible does say suicide lands you in hell.
The only unforgivable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

I've read stories that flip my beliefs immensely. I KNOW there is life after death.

For example a blind child coming back and telling everyone what she saw with great detail. She had been 100% blind since birth.

Another story had a child die on the operating table and when he came back he said that he flew to his house and saw his family. He said that his mom was making a specific dish for dinner, his dad was watching a specific show, and his sister was listening to a specific album laying in her bed or something.

So the doctor went and called them and explained he had to have immediate emergency surgery and he is fine, but he needed to ask them something. The doctor asked if the mother was cooking this dish. He said yes she was. The dads show, the sisters music... The kid was spot on.

Yes! i believe i have heard some of these stories, it has made me think immensely and believe that there is life after death. but i have also heard stories of people who said nothing happened after they were said to be clinically dead, that all they remember was what happened before blacking out and then waking up.

I for one am one of those people who would like to believe there is a peaceful life after we die

They say that out of body experiences and hallucinations are rife in your last moments, there's so much going on in your brain and body!

I just can't believe that you still retain a sense of self after. It doesn't seem right. If there is anything after, it just feels to me that any remaining energy after your body dies just pools together with the rest of it in the universe. It seems kinda odd to be bound to a mortal sense of consciousness when the mortal part is gone?

I bloody hope I don't have to do this shit again :notsure:

I think people who have near-death experiences (NDE) say they see a light at the end of the tunnel because the brain releases DMT and gives the illusion of that.

But for life after death, I don't know what to believe. I think the possibilities are endless and we're gonna have to wait and see what awaits us. It could be nothing and that it's easier to say some god in the sky created us then it is to say life began because some atoms reacted to each other and so we were created as an accident essentially.

I try not to think about it because our origin is unknown. We know so little.

I 100% do not believe there is 'life' after death.

Besides, there'd be no point in me killing myself to escape life, just to get more life.

Even humouring the idea brings up questions that spiral the conversation into ridiculous theoretical territory. Will I meet dead cave men? Can I eat food? I don't even humour it.

Likewise, i hope there's not a repeat-stay in this hell! I don't subscribe to any religion, nor do i have any idea what is true afterlife, or in this world of 'noone knows what is true' and fake news!. I also hope not to get reincarnated and sent back to this planet. If I did, I certainly wouldn't want to return as a human! I'd at least rather be a dog or a cat! Some animal that is loved enough to where euthanasia is permitted for that species. But apparently humans hate one another so much, that they want our arses to suffer MORE in death with modern life saving techniques! They say things that on it's face seem kind, like, "I love you so much, i cannot bear to loose you! So SUFFER bitch, so that mommy and daddy can feel good!" This is the type of prevailing attitude that I have grown weary of. I think in the past, death would have been accepted more than it is today! i can not stand this in humans! It's very controlling and manipulative, as humans tend to be. Now with modern life, the control seems to be more than ever, because people can...... But I prefer simply NOT exist after death! Existence brings pain, and as for me, i don't want another dose!

I used to believe in the afterlife (grew up Catholic, went to a catholic school and all that jazz) but now I don't. I don't want to. Maybe because I can't gather the courage to ctb if I do believe in all that.

For me, ctb is like sleeping without dreams. Just... Nothingness. Thats how i'd like it to be, and so that's how it is, at least for me.

I had already created my own thread but I hadn't paid attention that another thread had been created at the same time, sorry, I don't know if I should post my message here?

Here my thread:

"I don't know if the question has a place in the forum.

What is after death or ctb?

To clarify, is there a beyond after death. When I announced my project in a vague way or simply asked the question, can suicide impact a possible life beyond death.

People yelled at me saying that it's not good and that hell is waiting for me and that it's cowardly.

I don't believe that a god can punish someone who simply wants to have his end of life, especially if the person suffered from an unjust life (wrongful birth or wrongful life).

No one has ever explained to me why I came into the world and especially why disabled, unlike 90% of the population who is valid (source from the United Nations concerning disability).

Cordially. "

I'm not really sure what I believe regarding that. I suppose I hope for an afterlife, but if there isn't, I couldn't care less. I just want to be free of the current life I'm living.

Kinda wanna be a ghost and spook my enemies, though..... :-D

I can't see any way it would work. It's highly unlikely in my opinion but nothing is certain of course since the universe is still essentially a big mystery that nobody knows the purpose of.

I try to imagine the vast amount of time that will pass from our death until whatever happens to our Sun though. It brings certain comfort to me to realize the insignificance of a small human statistical error which I am. It also doesn't bring me any motivation though since my life will progress as it is and I do not see much interest in enduring pain just to eventually vanish into the earth.

It feels to me like most regular mentally and physically healthy folks have an easier time getting distracted by life to put much thought into their own mortality. If they ever think about it it's after they near the natural death of old age after their near loved ones have died.

It's natural though, I wouldn't think about these things if I had anything else going for me.

I think about life after death all the time. I want my life on earth to be over right now. I believe when I die I will go to Heaven because, Jesus died for me.

Who knows. There's nothing I can do about it at the end of the day because I have no control over my life or what happens to my being/existence. I was born into this life with no consent. Even if there is life after death I don't really care. It is what it is.

Life sucks if you're not born to handle it. There are people worse off than me who aren't suicidal so maybe life is meant for some and not for others. :notsure:

I believe there is, I don't know what it is, I suspect no one does and none of the religions have it correct. But I just have faith there is something, there has to be because otherwise I see life as being completely pointless even to normal healthy people, if once you are gone your consciousness ceases to be then what was the point in living at all.

You could argue your life is to continue new lives to keep pushing the species forward, but we all ready know in a few million years the sons going to explode, and it's more likely we will get hit by a world ending asteroid before then, so humanity will eventually go extinct.

If there is nothing after death, why are we bothering at all.

Just my thoughts, if people choose to believe there is nothing then that's completely fine, I would never try force my belief on anyone. And if some people want there to be nothing then I hope whatever it is let's them have the choice to stop existing.

Personally, I'm hopping for a giant cosmic space ghost like a great consciousness that we all go and become part off and spend the rest of eternity experiencing our and everyone else's past memories. Would also be cool if you could talk to your loved ones who also pass xD
