Let's talk about the "cable tie" method

How long would the ties have to be to go all the way around the throat and so I'd be able to zip them tight. Also does anyone know how long it would take to pass out and die?

I tried linking three together, but I think it wasn't tight enough, so I didn't really make any progress with this practice.
