We have a similar thread. I remember there being a pattern. Alot of Hotel workers like myself, as well as a few other professions that kept popping up.

Funny that's the case. I wanted to be a dentist for many years. I actually ended up with my own online retail business.

Right now, I'm taking care of my aunt who is paralyzed on her left side and has dementia and also taking care of my parents who have pre-dementia. My background, marketing, finance, psychology.

So incredible that you are caring for that many people! You must have a big heart and been blessed with a lot of patience. My grandfather had dementia and it's a very emotional thing to see a person you live go through. Sending you strength!

With the numbers of veterinarians who ctb, I am shocked we don't have a few here. Any vets out there? I have a dog question, and a pharma question.

It's extremely difficult. My grandmother had Alzheimer's. I was 20 at the time. I knew then that my parents and aunt could come down with Alzheimer's / dementia. I'm now 45, it's the most difficult period of my life. And I thought coming out of the closet was the most difficult part, I was wrong!!

Well I'm glad you are out of the closet and being true to who you are. Also you still have a relationship with your parents, even though they are poorly, it's still good that you have that bond and love. X

The suicidal vets probably never make it to SS to look for suicide methods. They just take their Nembutal and are done. (I'm only half joking here).

Thank you for sharing. Very interesting, though a bit misleading as men are more likely to complete an attempt, but it is not known whether more men or women attempt suicide (or it's not addressed in this data set).

Also couldn't help but notice the patriarchal influence in that men were addressed before women throughout the article. Nursing is dominated by females, who are in a hierarchical field in which doctors, a profession dominated by males, have superiority. (I recall one study in which nurses followed a doctor's instructions even if they broke legal protocols.*)
