It's a bit like a big fuck you to the world.

On one hand I can die alone in my dark apartment with no one finding my body for days, or I could go out with a bit of a show. I could piss off all the commuters and close the busy bridge nearby, lol fuck em and jump with an audience instead of silently in a dark corner.

Idk, it's more high energy to end it this way but that just may be what I need, the pressure of the situation could be a good motivator.

As long as you don't take anyone with you, it's your life. And considering if there are kids....

I think you should just do it in your appartment. Involving innocent people seems extremely short sighted, but thats just me.

And then youll just be labelled as another suicidal selfish mentally ill person and a few hours later everyone just gets on with their lives simple as that. If you feel like its ok to potentially tramatise people who havnt done anything to you then go ahead i guess.

Suicide is a personal choice, try keep its impact as small as possible.

I've tried alone in my room, partial suspension, multiple times over the years. It's simply too easy to back out, with the bridge their's pressure. They normally close the entire bridge down (talking major bridge in a big city), so doubt any kid would see me actually jump. Theirs also the fact, that I would probably be too prideful to back off, i'd jump to not appear as a 'coward' (ridiculous machoism I know). I like the idea of pissing off the commuters and perhaps living on in memory a little longer, being tied to the bridge.

Do you see bridge jumpers as selfish? Idk, I see them the same as the ones who do it alone at home. Lets not get silly and act like they are anything close to mass killers.

I experienced similar feelings a few years ago. I used to want to go out in a way that said fuck you to the world. Sometimes I'd want to do it in a more targeted way, like maybe at work/school/whatever to make a statement directed towards the people I felt contributed to me feeling the way I did. I'm sure your reasons are different - just thought I'd explain.

These days I just don't think it's the right way to do it. People will try to stop you, potentially putting themselves at risk, and ruining your attempt. Public services response will likely be overblown, potentially resulting in slower response time for other incidents. Then there's all the random onlookers that will also be affected - all individuals with their own feelings, who you don't know and likely haven't played any role in the reasons you feel the way you do.

I could go on but I'm sure you get the point. I just think there's better methods.

I dont no, I was stating how they can be viewed. I wouldnt personally choose a method like this but i dont want my suicide to be overshadowed by people thinking things like that about me. I dont knkw where your getting mass killers from, bit of there connecting suicidak people to mass murders

I don't normally feel this way but it feels good. I'm normally so lethargic that i'd rather just fade away but i'm amped up right now, not sure why but this method seems so much more enticing right now. I'm so nihilistic, that I couldn't really give a fuck if it affects a random stranger, not that I think it would.

Doing it alone in your room is hard when you normally don't feel anything at all. I have no feeling of urgency to do it at home, with the bridge it's a bit more of an event and with that the urgency/pressure would be an effective catalyst to commit.

I've thought about public suicide as well. Not going to lie. I researched jumps off parking garages and the 4 that were public here were all fatal...At least the ones in the news. I do know of one that wasn't in the news but he didn't die either, and jumped at the hospital garage so they only had a few feet to move him into emergency care. Jumping takes a lot of courage. I've looked down off of where I've pondered jumping and just said "nope." Doesn't mean it doesn't cross my mind anymore though.

I feel a parking garage would be difficult. For whatever reason a beautiful bridge with water below seems easier.

About the motivator factor. I think, the public suicide can be a good show for some viewers. Public executions was very popular. Especially, if you will die slow nad painful.

I've entertained the idea of a public suicide in the past, but presently, I'm much more inclined towards a private suicide due to the many things that could go wrong. One of the things include getting discovered, saved, and what not. I would do my best to find a secluded place and time to ctb, not so much to avoid traumatizing others (though avoiding that is a good thing, but just not 1st priority for me), but to ensure that I have the highest chance of success when I attempt. I won't tell others whether to go via a public suicide or private suicide as their circumstances and access to methods are vastly different from mine.

I would do Beachy Head or Clifton suspension bridge if I could get there. The build up and adrenaline rush would be something else, making it more of an event if you will. I wouldnt do it in front of people

Yeah, seems like you'd just be providing free entertainment for sadists who feed off of pain rather than get a point or message across to a society that's wronged you :/

I can definatly understand the feeling of wanting to say "fuck you" to the pro-lifers by making them watch us CTB. But nothing of value would come from that.

My biggest focus is on a peaceful/reliable death. I wanted to die alone but since the pro-lifers stopped me, my death will be in a public place - the bridge. I'd rather not be seen but that will be unavoidable in my circumstance.
