Kids committing suicide in France

So, enough is enough. In only 2 days, 3 kids took their lives in France (2 cases near my locality).
Ages : 9, 12 and 17

The little 9yo girl : hanging
The little 12yo boy : hanging
The 17yo girl : unknown method

School bullying seems to be the cause. The three cases seemed impulsive.

If some people think it's great to live in France, you have the answer.

Hearing about young children taking their own lives is devastating news, and what's worse is that this is a symptom of a much larger problem. The world is getting worse and while these deaths will no doubt be discussed as "tragic", no one will take the time to analyze or tackle the reasons behind them.

Every 40 seconds a person commits suicide. This is actually an omnipresent topic ever since the history of humanity but still people avoid talking about it because they feel "uncomfortable" talking about death. Its a horrible thing that humans who have it better in general tend to close their eyes when it comes to such tragic things like this. Its a sad world.

14 year old girl in Seville "Sandra Peña" took her own life by jumping from the top of the apartment she was living in along with her dad and brother.

Allegedly she took her life after being bullied in school for over a year, informing the school about it going to psychology and still no action being done by the school to stop the bullying.

Truly a sad thing how even minors are killing themselves as a consequence of how terrible this world is.

Just to be a contrarian, some of those kids may have been rational (although it's hard to know).

Often, kids who are bullied are different, and sometimes it gets better, but sometimes it doesn't. Usually work places are more civil, but do kids who were constantly made fun of often grow up to date, and gwt marrried, and be happy? It may happen, especially if the person is smart, but for some... I don't know.

I came close to committing suicide between 12-13 and honestly, I am not sure it was better I stuck around. I was very self-concious of dying a virgin then, without friends, not having had much fun... But then I did get friends, lose my virginity, and partied... But then a lot of people were mean to me again and I was assaulted. I don't know if the fun was worth the pain and think if I had thrown in the towel at 9 or 12 it woukd have been better.

I do hate when people who are close to adulthood end things, becauze leaving home, working, and having money can make a difference...

But someone veing made fun of constantly at 12 still has 6 more years of misery to endure before adukthood which may or may not make things better.

I am just not sure if we can be sure all young people who ctb are irrational. Being unattractive is difficult, not having people like you is difficult. There would be ways to regulate bullying so that it was reduced dramatically but it would involve severr consequences for the bullies, and that's not politically feasible when so many voters are bullies themselves.

That's insane... How do they even get the idea to hang themselves? You're right, a 9-year-old hanging up a rope and tightening a noose around their neck is an absolute horror to think about.

I do believe it was because of COVID and specifically masking. I know it was to curb the pandemic, but facial cues for children at that age (they must have been around 3 at the time) is extremely important for social development. I imagine their brains are wired differently and prone to depression because of that.

This really resonates. The future is not necessarily the wonderful thing that pro-lifers always seem to assume it is. And even if some distant future might really be that wonderful, it doesn't mean the suffering between now and then doesn't outweigh it.

Yes, 9 out of 10 times it starts with the parents.

I am probably heavily biased because of my personal situation but anytime I see cases involving minors, I almost always wonder what the 'parents' are like.

France is becoming a shitty place to live (like many other countries). Terrorism (one foiled attack per month), explosion of poverty, insane huge taxes, inflation, colossal debt, crazy president and first lady and many more shitty things but they won't talk about it on foreign medias. It was a great country, but forget it now. We need a new revolution but most french people are just dumb sheeps... And now kids are committing suicide...
