i think there are ketamine clinics (you'll likely have to pay out of pocket), but i don't think esketamine nasal spray is generaly prescribed in the uk outside of scotland.
however, your case should qualify as sufficiently treatment resistant to get it prescribed, if you're able to find esketamine near you.

I googled and seen they offer treatment in Oxford NHS. It's bloody expensive though. Why only in Scotland for the nasal spray. That's unfair. I thought nhs was the same no matter what country.
i believe due to the high cost of treatment and the fact that the clinical trial results for esketamine (not regular ketamine) were kind of ho-hum. sorry though, i am not too up on european pharma regulation to give you a better answer.
yes sorry, i do work all over but have not been to europe in 5+ years.
i've never taken it personally, i'm more of a pharmacologist, but the literature suggests it helps an awful lot. it's not specifically for horses, they used ketamine in humans for ages too. we just mostly replaced ketamine with new anesthetics that are a bit better to work with.

Not to be too discouraging, I am another non/bad responder to meds, I've taken some ketamine recreationally and while sometimes the dissociative effects can help me separate a bit from my mental illness, I haven't really found much relief for depression there. Recently tried shrooms for the same reason and also didn't work for making me feel better.
interesting, it's definitely worth trying ketamine if you've tried a bunch of ssris since it has an entirely novel mechanism, i'm sorry.
shrooms helped me a lot, i thought my depression was cured and i found a way to manage it, but the past 5 times have been very scary bad trips so it seeeeems like maybe i should not do shrooms anymore.
and now i just know what it's like to live without suicidal sadness for months at a time but not how to get it back.
OP, you can get private infusions (pricey) or Ketamine Therapy -7K in Bristol. Or dark net and Reddit. I would pay if I could afford it. K is maybe 30£ a gram, but the nasal spray was engineered to be 10k a spray, so NHS don't offer it.

A friend of mine got ketamine in form of a nasal spray, and said he didn't feel anything. Which I find weird, I've only done it recreationally, but I would feel at least something with about 10-20mg. So the dose must have been really low. I've heard from others though, that had got it iv, who said, they were tripping, and I think that's where the healing takes place. It kinda let's you view your life from an outside view, which can help put all your problems into perspective. So you can think about everything rationally, without it being this crushing wave of negative emotions and despair. At least that's how I felt, I imagine if you have a trusted friend/therapist to talk things through, it could have lasting benefits. Even without a therapist I had a lasting sense of optimism for a while after the effects wore off.

This is also my experience. It's fun while it lasts but not very good for anything longterm ime... Microdosing shrooms and/or acid throughout the day has been more helpful in the past, but it's easy to work up a tolerance to it. But yeah, ket just doesn't seem to have the lasting mood boost like other options.
hello! just to clarify this a little, the nasal spray is a slightly different form of ketamine than infusions or recreational use. it generally does significantly worse in depression studies than regular racemic ketamine, might be why your experiences were so different.
I feel connected with the infinite somehow and also atomised. It helps me perceive the world and my life as a story. It has given me some better days and more ease with the world. I haven't found it's lasted but maybe I need to take more
