  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Good Day to you all from here in the UK. I wanted to bring together those working in care support who themselves, as I, who suffer from mental health issues and especially still have feelings of failure, suicide and hopelessness. My working week involves doing my upmost to bring an ounce of hope, joy and positive vibes to all my clients yet I possibly neglect my own mental health and still, weekly if not daily consider taking my own life. I encourage the live in the now and immediate joy life gives us yet that internal struggle to justify crawling on through life is so real. Any comments and any thoughts more than welcome and appreciated whether in the light or in the dark.

I understand you, I also wanted to try something similar, be it because you want to help others to understand yourself better or you see an opportunity for them to not make the same mistake as them, it's a good thing in my opinion, however don't set yourself on fire to heat up others, this doesn't mean to drop what you do but try to give advice that you could see yourself using, even if just once a month. That's kind of the only thing I can say

....every bit of advice or support I give is exactly my own 'philosophy' but based on my 'up' periods. I know I provide a positive support but I will still suffer in my own silence predominantly in an evening down time..... if that makes sense.

It's sad to hear. I work in a role with heavy safeguarding elements too and I'm in the same position. It just feels so strange putting on a mask to help people. There's definitely some satisfaction to be had, but it's never enough.

<3 I honestly think that your own experience likely makes you better at uplifting those you care for, as you can truly understand what it's like and I'm sure all your patients greatly appreciate your efforts even if they'll never know your struggle. I'm honestly impressed with anyone who can provide that kind of comfort , I've never been good at comforting others with words as I always fear that even when I really don't mean to be, I come across as insincere because Ive grown quite cynical

The insincerity complex I understand but I really mean it when I'm trying to lift someone's spirits but it can make you feel a bit 'fake'. I'm cynical too but I guess there is so little time in a working day to let personal demons slip in.
