I seem to remember back in my early days, that number would be anywhere from less than, to maybe 1-2x the number of actual members. 2,600?! Christ, no matter how you slice it, that's worrying.

Actually, I think on peak there were more than 5k guests online. However, I think years ago there were way more members online.

It truly is disturbing, wouldn't surprise me if some of those weren't actual people but just an effect of trying to overload a server by the 3rd party such as DDOS attackers

I think most of the time it has to do with bots. People trying to take the site down.
But maybe I'm wrong because I follow the" introduce yourself" thread, and there were quite a few new ones in the last 24 hours. And like half of them are from the UK which I found even more ironic!

Speaking as someone new to the site, I learned about it in an article I came across....personally I'm glad this place exists, its nice to have a place to be frank about this topic without fear of judgement and/or censorship. I'm sure there are plenty of bots and the like, but for people dealing with this sort of thing signing up to this site is a no brainer.

I got bored and did some math. As of typing this, there were 204 members online and 2,003 guests online. This is a ratio of 9.8186 guests—or just 10 since there can't be 0.82 of a person—to every member.

I think it's always been like this, due to the sites nature after all…

I think it's morbid curiosity, hate watching, and minors searching up methods that they're too young to access.

There are still quite few. Noticed on my VPN the site does a human verification check now which it wasn't doing before. Something to do with the DDOS? I guess those extra two thousand really were bots...

I don't use a VPN and I've been getting the human verification too so it probably is due to bot activity
