Just tested out my partial suspension hanging set up in the kneeling position.

Even though I've been reading about it, I was extremely surprised by how quickly it started to take effect, within about 5 seconds I got fuzzy and light headed which made it hard to get back up. I started panicking because I struggled to release myself and I felt myself rapidly approaching unconsciousness. After a few seconds of panicking, I managed to stand up and loosen the knot. My heart was pounding, my neck throbbing and I felt bloodflow start to return to my brain.

I still have a few payments to make and things to tidy up but I think tonight is my night. Be careful anyone who plans to test out partial suspension hanging before being ready to go, it seems very risky.

One could even say that if you're not careful, you might die. *Rimshot*

Why'd you take it off? I'm just curious. Was the pain to unbearable? Fear of the unknown? Survival instinct kicking in? A combination of all three?

Moreso the latter two. It was unpleasant but there wasn't really any pain. Fear of the unknown and survival instincts describes what i felt perfectly.

Maybe the fact that I didn't intend to ctb exacerbated this response but it was quite intense. Or maybe I'm just not as desperate to go as I initially thought. Ugh.

Hmm..interesting. Thanks for the response. It seems like some people panic while others do it with no problem (like that guy in the digitas videos).

I think it's the result of two things:

The drug kicking in and the fear of death always stems from the fact that you still think you haven't lived to your full potential or you still have hope. The old people you see in the videos know they've already lived their life and it's a fact that their situation won't get better so there's really no reason to be scared anymore or have second thoughts.

I was thinking the same thing. The old folks are more confident in their decision. Thats why they seem so calm.

Very good point I think you're right. I really hope it doesn't take me until I'm in old age to ctb though.

Hi Jethacan

Can you please explain in detail how you did it
Like what did you use, a rope a belt or extension cord?

And what did you attach it to etc please?

Thank You

Thank you for this very interesting information. I have also decided to ctb by partial suspension hanging and I'm looking for all the info about this topic I can find. I once saw a very interesting video about this on Youtube, where they testet this and they also made the same experience as you did. The video is now deleted from Youtube unfortunately, I wish you could see it. In the video a girl hang herself and when she lost consciousness a man liftet her up. It all happened very fast and she said after that she felt no pain. It was very interesting. I think death by partial suspension hanging is a good choice for ctb, but my big problem is that I'm also afraid.

The partial suspension has to be painless, otherwise there wouldn't be people jerking off while doing it.

About standing up and regret, I read that in one instance, the floor was made slippery with soap to make sure the person wouldn't cop out.

Thank you, I'm still here. I'm very ashamed to say it but the 'test' scared me and I have not yet planned when my next attempt will be because of this. I may try to order N before attempting this method again. To people considering it, it was definitely not unbearable, and it was extremely easy to execute - I just need to be reminded of why I made these plans in the first place, by going through day to day life again for a while.

typx, Lisa and VanHeineken, I have added a few links that I used as information at the end of this post. Firstly here's what I did. I also just want to add a caveat that I am not intending this as advice, and I am by no means an expert on partial suspension hanging. I am simply explaining what I did personally, although it did seem to work well.

My Method

Knots
Around the neck:
Slip knot, aka Simple noose (How To Video)
Attached to support: Also a slip knot, with the first loop in the video going around the support. I couldn't find any videos to show what I mean but if you just try that same knot around a pole, it should be very easy.
Pull down on the rope in between the two knots to ensure that the support knot tightens, it should feel very secure.

Type and Thickness of Rope:
Personally I used 10mm polypropylene rope as it was the thickest rope in the shop. I think I have read somewhere advising thicker rope, or to use hemp rope for better strength. Maybe they meant it for drop hanging but the rope I used seemed strong enough to me. Research this more yourself but I'm sure people have successfully hung themselves with much weaker materials.

Padding: I cut out material from a soft jumper (I think Americans call it a sweater) to use as padding for comfort. I tightened the knot around my neck and marked where I would place the padding on the rope. I cut the correct length of material needed and enough width to wrap material around the rope a few times. I attached the padding to the rope with sellotape (scotch tape) at 4 locations. Makeshift I know, but it was good enough.
I want to emphasise that this increased comfort immensely by reducing friction, pinching and generally making the rope feel softer.

Kneeling position: This is a probably a little hard for you to visualise but my feet were touching the floor and I leant my weight downwards by bending my knees. I noticed that when I was hesitant or didn't lean all my weight it did not work well at all. It seemed like I needed to really commit to it and force as much of my weight down as possible. This made me go light headed very quickly.

Position of knots: Standing up, the knot around the neck was roughly at stomach level. The support bar was at eye level.

Support: For me my wardrobe has a very sturdy metal clothes rail which I used as support.

I still have a few payments to make and things to tidy up but I think tonight is my night. Be careful anyone who plans to test out partial suspension hanging before being ready to go, it seems very risky.

I'm about to try to go Home. I bought a pair of handcuffs to keep my hands behind my back so I can't try to tear at the rope.

If you do it right you could lose conscience in just a few seconds. here's a video of a mass suicide by hanging by looks like leaning
https://forum.deathaddict.com/threa...ead-in-suspected-mass-suicide-in-delhi.20601/

That's crazy, if that happened in the West it would be a massive story. Hard to believe that many people could choose to end there lives together like that.

There was a murder case in Canada where it was set up to look like a suicide by hanging.

Ugh.

the question is. why those other people said they regain consciousness?

Many people here have posted that they passed out easily from partial but that later they found themselves standing up- even after you pass out this very commonly happens to spoil the attempt. Some people have haqd success with partila- a couple of recent celebrity suicides plus suicides in prison are almost always partial. Maybe SI is easier to overcome in prison because people want to esca[pe this environment so much.

Yeah it is such a common occurrence for people to wake up standing. It is probably some instinctual reflex. I recently had a failed attempt at partial myself. I felt very close to passing out but suddenly I had my hands around the rope and pulling myself up.
