If the solution is going to be effective and meaningful, it SHOULD be permanent.

It's the dumbest cliche, a permanent solution is kinda the whole point, for me at least
The best kind of solutions are permanent ones. If there was a permanent cure for diabetes instead of just daily treatment, people would take that. obviously you don't want your problem just coming back to bite you in the ass again. Its a really stupid and thoughtless statement, honestly.

Honestly the last time I attempted something and got hospitalised, I discharged myself a week later and they leave me with no follow-up care at all. I begged them to give me some actually, and they said I don't need it. There really is no "care" in "mental health care".
When it comes to mental health equivocation barely exists.treating physical ailments are given full precedence and mental illness is just some backwater dilemma that exists and requires some attention
You are justva nuisance oncecyouvare " properly dealt with " you are easily then disposed of

And just after posting on this thread I heard this quote again. I don't think people understand that it's a permanent solution that we want. And that not all problems are temporary.

I can only think of one solution that isn't permanent that I like. Alcohol. Technically it is a "solution" and it doesn't seem to last long around me at all...

Even if suicide is that solution, what would be wrong with taking the solution ??? Solutions are great. Everyone should have one.

There is a pretty good cure for diabetes: cool sculpting or liposuction at the belly. Just does not seem to be covered by health care..(conspiracy?) The Food and Drug administrations are sure pushing sugar on us every step along the way.

Permanent solutions are my favourite kind of solution to problems

Everyone's point was fantastic, but your phrasing is my favorite on this one.

You all have me smiling about it, thank you so much.

Even if they have good intentions, or they're just naïve, I wish that these types people would understand that what they call a 'temporary problem' is like telling someone that has lost their leg that they just need to find a different way to 'cope'. Who are they to decide that?

Are they missing a leg? They don't know what it feels like until they experience it.

They cannot judge someone else's experience and then dictate or preach to them.

All their theories, preaching, tossing out simplistic advice just doesn't work in reality.

Besides, if we're all just going to Experience even more increased suffering as we get older and become more physically fragile and exhausted, and we personally just don't want to experience that, isn't that our right?

it's our life.

Metaphor:
If someone doesn't do very well in the sun, because their skin burns easily, why force force them to go out in the sun? Isn't it up to them? They know themselves best, Only that person knows what they can and cannot tolerate. Not other people.

To me, someone telling me to just find a way to cope, or that's life, etc. is like telling me to force myself to stay out in the sun and suffer a sunburn. Why would I do that? Why not just avoid it?

Telling me to stay alive for many more years is like telling me to choose to suffer instead of simply liberating myself from this crappy giant prison called planet earth in the physical realm.

Maybe their life is good, but mine isn't. Maybe they have a wonderful marriage, but I don't. Maybe they have the type of friends they need, or enough money, but I don't. Maybe their health is better than mine or yours, etc. I wish I was so lucky as them, but I'm not. i've tried everything.

It's not my fault that I have suffered so much damage over the years, physically, domestically, etc. and I don't have my basic human needs met most of the time. I hide behind my smile. Like so many of you on here as well from what I understand.

Why continue to just watch myself continuously suffer? If I am experiencing joy and comfort an average of 10% of the time, does that make it all worth it? Not for me. If I'm suffering an average of 80 to 90% of the time, exhausted, constantly struggling, what is the point?

So I can say I'm alive? Being alive is horrible for me. I'm not interested, thanks anyway.

It never gets better, it only gets worse as I get older. If someone was torturing you, but you were trying to stay alive for your mom or someone else for example, at what point do you finally just say I can't take it anymore regardless? At some point in the future, it just becomes too much. And for them to ask you to stay alive so they can just have you around at times, but you are tortured, it just becomes unbearable. Personally, I don't want to reach that point. I can see the writing on the wall.

I've given this species and this life so many chances over and over and it never gets better, At least not for me.

If someone is suffering, And wants to be free from their suffering, why not? Because of some theory that it "might" get better?

And what if it doesn't get better? What then?

What justifies staying in a place where you suffer the majority of the time? What makes it worth it? That's the real question.

So here we all are...

google prediabetes and the relationship between fat cells on the stomach and insulin resistance.
It is one of the conspiracies I accuse the medical system of. They KNOW and they do not TELL. 67 billion are spent in the US to alleviate diabetes. Do you really think there is any motivation whatsoever to eliminate diabetes???? Equally undersubscribing thyroid meds and sleeping pills. We are all wired on coffee during the day and alcohol at night because we cannot be fully awake (not enough thyroid) and after that amount of coffee every day we cannot sleep.

Apparently there have been many people across America that have died because the insurance company raised the rates, and pharmaceutical companies as well, such as a man who died from his diabetes because they raised his medication to $900 a month. what a sick society (literally too) And government that gets paid under the table by both insurance and pharmaceutical corporations, all to maintain the unjust laws that favor them and not the average person.

and underprescribing thyroid meds also leads to diabetes

I think they never knew what it meant to suffer so much that you curse yourself when you wake up in the morning. Or they are extremely brainwashed.
