Buy aquarium strip tests that can test for nitrite, scoop a little into a glass and test it. Plenty of images on here should show you what it looks like.

You can find aquarium strips fairly easily. Pretty sure you can buy them off of amazon

Can anyone tell me if the blood test or the test strips read the same for sodium nitrate as for sodium nitrite? I was trying to find a way to tell the two apart.
