Does anyone else think jumping from a mountain or cliff while in beautiful scenery a good way to go?
I've been skydiving and had free falled before. I'm not scared of heights in that regard.
I think going to Utah and camping out under the stars at Zion park (one of the least light pollution places in the world) and gazing at the stars and solar systems which supposedly are visible to the naked eye before I go would be a beautiful experience. Then morning sunrise just jump (no doubt you could find a place there where jumping from the edge would result in immediate death)
Just curious if anyone else has had these thoughts or why it isn't talked about more?

I like the idea of dying in a scenic place, there is a well known suicide spot in my country where people have jumped off the cliffs and it does look like a nice place to die at. However, I do think that jumping is a terrifying method and I doubt I would be able to ever ctb that way. I do envy those with the courage for it though.

I think it's a good idea to do something nice for yourself like that before you go but I wouldn't recommend jumping because it's way too risky to end up disabled from it. Though I suppose if you're really in the middle of nowhere that you probably won't be found in time for it to matter.

I'd bring a tent or something and leave inside of that with a more peaceful method. You could always rent a cabin or something as well.

I thought of a charcoal grill in a tent. Idk how I would manage that all alone esp if it wasn't enough. I feel if I hike high enough up that the fall would definitely get the job done. I guess there's that small chance of surviving any method though when you research. I do think if done right (jumping) it would actually be one of the most peaceful ways to go bc you die instantaneously.
I'd have to auto delay a message to the park I did it right before I jump. My regret I have with this method is that there will be someone left to clean up the scene and me causing trauma to who is responsible for clean up :(

I think it could be a nice way to go, if you have the cojones to actually do it. I don't.

On an aside, since you mention it, I wonder why no one has ever brought up the potential method of ctb by parachuting. Someone could take some lessons and get qualified, and when they were allowed to solo, they could just not pull the ripcord on one of their jumps. Would that work? Or, is there some automatic deployment of a chute if someone fails to pull the ripcord? That should be about a 100% success rate as long as someone was committed to it. And a hell of a view on the way out, too.

Oooogood call! I remember after the first time I went skydiving, we all went back bc we wanted to go tandum (solo) believe it or not it was only an hour long class before you jump solo-crazy right!? Anyways, the day we went, it was bad weather and we never rescheduled it but I'm not sure if there's some automatic release if you didn't pull the cord at the right time?
It would then just be a free fall until you hit the ground which would be the same from jumping from a high canyon imo

Maybe could have a nice lunch at Cuckmere, a few glasses of wine and beers then casually laughing all just walk towards the edge and not stop......

Zion is beautiful… There's some very famous spot high on the top of a peak… That is quite treacherous…( I have fear of heights so it's not for me)
