  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I know jumping is risky but I don't have the energy for anything. Who else feels like this? I can't see myself doing a complicated pills regime or hanging even feels like too much. Just want to leap and be done. Lions Gate bridge here in Vancouver.

You'd be surprised how much willpower it takes to jump. I would say even more than it does to hang yourself. You don't just fight your inner demons as you stand up there looking out at the precipice, you fight your most basic instincts. I lived by Beachy Head most of my life and I've stood up there dozens of times. That's how I know I could never jump.

Ive been on rooftops of abandoned building and never been able to jump granted I would be jumping onto cement instead of water but still that split second of pain on impact scares me

I also want to jump if I don't get my SN, the only important thing is that the height must be at least 50 meters and on hard ground it is best to hit head over heels
i am not afraid of jumping just want a partner who jumps with me

If I'm not alone relatively soon to hang myself, I'll end up jumping. Manhattan Bridge for me, though.

I'm not sure that jumping would ever be possible for me as I am scared of heights. I think I would prefer hanging. If only suicide was easier, we all deserve a peaceful exit at a time of our own choosing.

I did a search by Lions Gate Bridge suicides on google and this is what I found it said: "There is a number of suicide bridges in the greater Vancouver area, the most frequented being the Lions Gate Bridge, which saw 324 suicidal incidents, including 78 jumps from 2006 to 2017. ... It is unknown how many deaths have occurred at the bridge, but there have been at least 25 in total, with 10 being from 2012–2013."

So at least 25 suicides and 78 jumps from 2006 to 2017. You can't get to exact numbers from this, but it looks like overall there is likely less than a 50% chance of it working, probably closer to 1 in 3. With about 4 times as many "incidents" as jumps it sounds like the police or others are stopping about 3 out of 4 people who try to make at attempt.

The bridge is 111 feet into water, which isn't high enough to be confident of ctb. If you are ok with maybe a 1 in 3 chance, and you are ready to handle a hospitalization if it doesn't work, that's up to you. If you survive you may be seriously injured.

210 feet into water, if it was that, is 99% fatal based on the golden gate bridge, but jumping there is almost impossible- police swarm any single people walking on the bridge reportedly. Currently only 1 person jumps here every two weeks out of what must be a much higher number who try.

There are higher bridges but none nearby I am sure, and who knows what the access is- searches on google can help to determine this.

Best of luck whatever you choose. :)
