I hope this isn't a post that's against the rules. I've seen a lot of threads asking knowledge on certain methods, so hopefully this will be okay.

For those of you who have any knowledge about jumping, or experience, would jumping off of a five story building most likely kill me? I read on Quora that 50% die if they are jumping from a 5-10 story, and 100% die if it is over 10 stories (I'm pretty sure my numbers are right). If my attempt(?) fails, I do not want to be a vegetable, disabled or brain-damaged for the rest of my life. I apologize if that sounds disheartening; I'm not meaning it to be that way at all. I'd just prefer my attempt to work, over anything.

It depends. I read an article and there was a student who survived after jumping off 17 floors window(if i remember correctly). A tree saved him. And there was also a woman who survived by a car bumper. But she didn't jump off high floors.

Thank you for your response, Indieblue. I don't want to be too vague nor too specific, but there was a woman who jumped to her death from the same exact building, and died, so I doubt I would survive, but who knows.

Jumping would be my last choice, but the higher the better. Talk about a adrenaline rush. I doubt you'll feel anything, but my worry is me watching the ground get closer. I'd have to wear blindfold to jump. I'm not really cool with heights either. I did read where this flight attendant survived falling out of an airplane. There's many other crazy stories about people surviving high falls. I'd pick something more for sure.

I would say don't risk it 5 floors, there's may be a chance you'll survive. And be careful where you land, you don't want anything to catch your fall.

I mean, if the drop is high enough, it's almost certain. The human skull can't handle impact at terminal velocity

True but I don't know. Why the fuck are we even alive what did we do wrong to deserve life

Jumping from 200ft+ (~15 story) gives you 95% fatality rate, landing head first and on hard concrete increases the chance of CTB. Don't rush when you choose to go with this method.

200+ is 99%+ fatality rate.
It's not funny at all. Why do we have to live
the funny bit is that it was out of hand. It was like "I know...but....but...fuck it, why do we even live!!!aghhhh!"

Why do we have to live is a fat ass question that nobody here can answer.

I get what you're saying, but the way it was worded was a bit funny. Even if you intended it to not be funny. Nothing wrong with a little humor. Fact is nobody will ever really know the point to life, it's what you make of life. I don't think there's a certain list on how you should live. You're right, we didn't ask to exist. Sometimes I wonder how I beat all the other sperm to be born.

I think you should definitely do your best to try and make sure that you decide a different method. If you don't want to be a vegatable, I'd say that jumping is probably your best chance of becoming one, especially from only five stories. I know someone who jumped from a parking garage that was probably about that same height if not taller, andshe had to be hospitalized, fed baby food... shit like that.

i think that your best chance would be to grab SN. There are first hand accounts on the site you can use the search bar for, and the best part is if that you change your mind, you can call the hospital and you will most likely be revived and OK. Especially if someone were to find you anyways, and saved you, you wouldn't be a vegatable and could eventually try again.

That is, ifthings didn't get better and you're sure about what you want.

I did intend for it to be funny man sorry if I sounded too serious lol. And I don't know if it's about beating sperm. Life is so weird... SO MUCH OUTER SPACE OUT THERE!!!!!! I wonder if we were always conscious before we were born. Or if we die as sperm then keep reincarnating as other sperms. I think death is just nothing.

HOwever, with death, you can't experience time. Thus, googolplexes upon gooolplexes of years go by in the snap of your fingers, and maybe you wake up conscious in some futuristic world where some being has found out how to revive all consciousnesses and create a new world for you, thus restarting your life or something. And if that doesn't happen (which is possible) then maybe the universe blows up and life repeats itself I don't know man. I have had tons of déjà vu in my life. Too MUCH déjà vu. So much in fact, that it just can't be coincidence

I definitely feel you on that one. I've always been afraid of heights but my fear has lessened as I've gotten older. Thank you for your input.

I think besides the height, you should consider the position you're jumping. You should dive, not jump. If you go legs first, you're probably ending up paralyzed. But, as others said, the higher the better. And please, consider a safer method.

This. Not worth the horrific injuries you will sustain and have to live with. Injuries that may well stop you from being able to have any further attempts.

At that height it's more on how you land. I've seen videos of people falling from 100 feet or less and not surviving. But you need height.

You'd be going 11.1 meters per second, give or take 3 seconds until impact. A taller building is recommended for time to change positioning, and higher impact. It's usually recommended to be above 13 or 15 stories. If you were to hit your head directly on the concrete, heck you'd be decimals away from 100%, more than likely, even with shorter stories. As long as there's no (a trees, (b grass, or (c snow, and assuming you'd hit your head, yes it'd be more then enough to kill you. The height is probably good with 10 stories, it's just good to have "assurance"
